The process of gestation for In Search of Lost Meaning took more than 40 years. It is a reflection on our relentless search for meaning, as perspectives change over long periods of time. I started working on the first movement - Abandoned Dreams - in 1977, when I was still in Romania. It was initially a cry against the limitations that Communist regimes inflict on people's dreams and free spirit. More than 40 years later, now living in Texas, I found a manuscript containing the first three movements, transformed them by adding a new perspective, reflecting on my adolescent dreams and what happened to them over time. And then, in 2021 I added the last movement - Never Look Back - closing the loop with an Orphic attempt to focus on the present and look into the future without regrets.

For a long time this piece was kept in the drawer, until I decided to bring it ti light. The inspiration for this piece, as the name implies, comes from the vast repertoire of baroque music. This can be seen in the format of the concerto from the firts to last movements. The second movement also brings a touch of the classical period while the third moves towards elements seen in the first two, but ending in a po,pous and majestic finale.

There are lot trio formation versions, but I did not find any quartet version. Originally composed for organ by J.S.Bach I have composed the viola part and I have arranged the left and right hand parts to make it easier to play on violins and woodwind instruments.The pedalier part (violonchelo) has been changed to lowered to give space for viola part.The viola part has been composed in Bach style contributing rhythm and armonic wealth to the whole piece.I have really enjoyed this project because when the ingredients are very good, the end result will be very good. How big is Bach !!! ....Enjoy it!!.

She proceeded to tell me that she saw the socks dancing around in a dryer.
