Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1125754 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mary Ann W. Snowball. Christian,Christmas,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 3 pages. Kevin G. Pace #726494. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1125754). A lovely, Christmas hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball. Text: I wonder on that Christmas day, when Baby Jesus slept on hay, If He dreamed the world would sing sweet songs about the love He’d bring? I wonder when the star shone bright if sheep were startled by the light? Did the shepherds stop and pray to find where Baby Jesus lay? I wonder if the cattle stirred when cries from Jesus could be heard? Did his mother wrap him tight and sing to Him throughout the night? I wonder when the wisemen came, if they were told the Baby’s Name? Were the precious gifts they brought then used by Jesus as He taught? I wonder on that Christmas day, when Baby Jesus slept on hay, If He knew He’d grow to be God’s greatest gift for you and me? I wonder if dear Joseph stayed with Mary to give needed aid? Did he feed the donkey there, or give sweet Mary all his care?

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1130062 Composed by English Folk Song by way of American Appalachians. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Celtic,Children,Folk,Irish,Traditional,Wedding. Score and parts. 28 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #730439. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1130062). The origins of this lullaby can be traced back to 15th-century England. Pioneers from the British Isles brought it with them to the American Appalachians. Written in three verses, its lyrics tell of four seemingly impossible gifts the singer gave my love. The first verse describes each gift: cherry that has no stone, a chicken that has no bone. a story that has no end and a baby with no cryin'. The second verse poses the riddle: how can such items exist? The third provides the answers: A cherry when it's bloomin', it has no stone. A chicken when it's pippin', it has no bone. The story of I love you, it has no end. A baby when it's sleepin', has no cryin'. This Riddle Song has enjoyed somewhat of a revival since mid-20th century, making appearances in various movies, TV shows and recordings. In 1956, Jerry Livingston and Paul Francis adapted The Riddle Song tune, added an original bridge and created new lyrics; Johnny Mathis recorded it as The Twelfth of Never, giving the haunting melody probably its greatest surge in popularity. This arrangement is in G major and opens with an upbeat introduction. For the first statement of the melody, tempo slows and Trumpets alternate the lead. On the second time through, tempo speeds up slightly and tuba takes the lead. For the third, tempo is back to the opening speed and Horn in F plays the melody. On the fourth time through, Trumpets and Trombone frame the tune in a call-and-response form. In the fifth, Trombone takes the lead. In the sixth and final statement, Horn in F and Trombone play melody at half speed while Trumpets play a fairly complicated counterpoint (at what may seem like double speed!). This, until the last phrase (A baby when it's sleepin'), when the melody switches over to Trumpets and Trombone takes the counterpoint. Trumpet 1 plays its A above the staff a number of times. Tuba's lowest note is its F down below the staff. Otherwise, notes for all instruments are well within normal playing range. Because of the recommended tempo, the countermelody at measures 68-83 could be problematic for Trumpets and Trombone and may require a little extra work. Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 3 minutes, 42 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1248632 By Herb Alpert. By Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 3 pages. Timothy Stapay #843127. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1248632). This is an arrangement of This Guys In Love With You for intermediate piano solo. This Guy's in Love with You is a song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and recorded by Herb Alpert. Although known primarily for his trumpet playing as the leader of the Tijuana Brass, Alpert sang lead vocals on this solo recording, arranged by Bacharach. An earlier recording of the song was by British singer Danny Williams titled That Guy's in Love, which appears on his 1968 self-titled album. As documented in an A&E Biography episode featuring Bacharach, the recording originated when Alpert, while visiting at Bacharach's office, asked, Say, Burt, do you happen to have any old compositions lying around that you and Hal never recorded; maybe one I might be able to use? Alpert said he made it his practice to ask songwriters that particular question: often a lost pearl was revealed. As it happened, Bacharach recalled one, found the lyrics and score sheet in his office filing cabinet, and offered it to Alpert: Here, Herb ... you might like this one.Lyrics:You see this guyThis guy's in love with youYes, I'm in loveWho looks at you the way I doWhen you smile I can tellWe know each other very wellHow can I show youI'm glad I got to know you, 'causeI've heard some talkThey say you think I'm fineYeah, I'm in loveAnd what I'd do to make you mineTell me now, is it so?Don't let me be the last to knowMy hands are shakingDon't let my heart keep breaking, 'causeI need your loveI want your loveSay you're in loveIn love with this guyIf not, I'll just dieTell me now, is it so?Don't let me be the last to knowMy hands are shakingDon't let my heart keep breaking, 'cause I need your loveI want your loveSay you're in loveIn love with this guyIf not, I'll just die.

Small Ensemble Flute,Keyboard,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1005681 Composed by Grace Joy Reid. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 9 pages. Creating Music Joy #6197023. Published by Creating Music Joy (A0.1005681). My original song, Poe's Christmas Eve Carousel Ride, is a microtonal melody for Celesta and/or Flute/Voice, based on Edgar Allan Poe's Evening Star.I imagined Edgar Allan Poe sitting on one of the carousel horses as it was going around and around. While this was happening, he was looking up at the night sky and thought about how much he liked the evening star better than the moon's light. (The celesta is known for its recognized sound in Tchaikovsky's, The Nutcracker Suite, The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.). I figured out how to put it in a quartal tone key in Finale, thanks to Google. I used quartal tones in the left hand, so it's a blend of a tonal melodic line in an atonal landscape.  Edgar Allan Poe had a horrific life. His father abandoned his family when he was young. His mother died when he was a child. After he was adopted, although not legally, he had a falling out with his foster father, who alienated him and didn't let him know that his foster mother was dying. But, he did inform him after she died. Edgar married his cousin, Virginia Clem, who was 13 and he was 26. She died 11 years into their marriage due to tuberculosis. Thus, some writers say that all of his writings have a beautiful woman who died in his stories. He lost all of the women who loved him in his life. When you see his portrait, he has sad eyes, as someone who has suffered much. But, his writing has lived well beyond his lifetime of misery and heartache.  My song symbolizes, not only Poe's poem, but his life, as very difficult, yet beautiful.  With me poetry has not been a purpose, but a passion. Edgar Allan Poe.  Warning:  Before purchasing this music, make sure that you know how to use quartal tones in your keyboard.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270685 By Etta James. By Irving Kahal and Sammy Fain. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Timothy Stapay #863059. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1270685). This arrangement of I'll Be Seeing You is written as performed by legendary piano artist, Liberace.  It's based on a rare piano solo version rather than thevocal version, that Liberace would often sing on his shows. I'll Be Seeing You is a popular song about missing a loved one, with music by Sammy Fain and lyrics by Irving Kahal.   Published in 1938, it was inserted into the Broadway musical Right This Way, which closed after fifteen performances. The title of the 1944 film I'll Be Seeing You was taken from this song at the suggestion of the film's producer, Dore Schary. The song is included in the film's soundtrack. Lyrics:I'll be seeing you in all the old familiar placesThat this heart of mine embraces all day throughIn that small cafe, the park across the wayThe children's carousel, The chestnut trees, the wishing wellI'll be seeing you in every lovely summer's dayIn everything that's light and gayI'll always think of you that wayI'll find you in the morning' sunAnd when the night is newI'll be looking at the moonBut I'll be seeing youI'll find you in the morning sunAnd when the night is newI'll be looking at the moonBut I'll be seeing you.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891196 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Laurie Betts Hughes. A Cappella,Contemporary,Folk,Traditional. Octavo. 5 pages. Dandelion Music Press #3103605. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891196). Movement four of four Cowboy Songs of the American SouthwestThis fun-to sing TTBB a cappella concert arrangement set of regional folksongs are evocative of barbershop, concert, and a cappella styles and utilize some fun extended techniques in the second movement.  Also appropriate for a versatile barbershop or men's quartet, upper HS level or above. These four cowboy songs that make up the song cycle Cowboy Songs of the American Southwest are among the nearly 3,000 field recordings recorded in the U.S. Southwest, Mexico and Spain collected by John Donald Robb over 40 year while at the University of New Mexico.  These recordings preserve many of the musical traditions of these areas, especially New Mexico and Southern Colorado, and include Native American, Hispano, Mexican and African American music, as well as railroad and cowboy songs, fiddle music and the music of festivals and fiestas.I.  The Call of the Range- Evocative of a carefree, lone cowboy singing while strumming his ukulele.  Barbershop harmonies, similar to ukulele harmonies, suggest a personification of both the ukulele and the rangeland itself as a character in the unfolding drama of the seemingly solitary cowboy.II. I'm Sad and I'm Lonely- Whispered syllables and whistles evoke percussion and a bowed saw in this despondent tale of unrequited love and solitude.III. Wild Horse of the Desert- The melody fights with the downbeat to mimic the wild horse fighting against land rights and fencing.IV. When Cockle Shells Turn Silver Bells- An overly carefree, lighthearted shrug at lost love to embrace the lone cowboy lifestyle.Due to current restrictions of the John Donald Robb field recordings housed at the University of New Mexico, movements I. The Call of the Range and III. Wild Horse of the Desert are offered with permission and without charge with the purchase of public domain arrangements of II. I'm Sad and I'm Lonely and IV. Instrumental Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1271184 By Billie Eilish. By Billie Eilish O'Connell and Finneas O'Connell. Arranged by Thomas Gunther. Children,Contemporary,Film/TV. Individual part. 4 pages. Thomas Gunther Music Productions #863576. Published by Thomas Gunther Music Productions (A0.1271184). About the arrangement  This is pianist/arranger Thomas Gunther's beautiful and highly accurate piano solo arrangement of the 2023 Barbie Movie features Billie Eilish's song WHAT I WAS MADE FOR.  It includes even Billie's quiet humming passages. This solo piano version can be played all by itself, or with Billie's recording of the song.It is easy enough to learn for pianists that have no amazing techniqual skills, but can be challanging in different ways, as explained below. From the Arranger Thomas Gunther  The most challenging task when writing this solo piano arrangement of What I Was Made For was to notate Billie's rhythm accurately. Her melodic rhythm is very important as it supports the flow of the lyrics perfectly. Notating a singer's rhythm can unfortunately never be 100% perfect (notation is by definition quantized), but I think I got very close. An other challenge was to get the accompaniment sound like the original without stepping on the melody notes. Looking at my final version I think it is as good as it gets for a piano adaption of this highly emotional song.I really hope all you Billie Eilish fans out there will enjoy playing this arrangement! How difficult is it As mentioned earlier, the song looks simple, but to play it well there is a lot of things the pianist has to take care of. The most challenging aspect is to sustain some notes by either using clever fingering or employing the sustain pedal. Also, dynamics are really important, especially when ballancing the accompaniment against the melody. Fingering I included fingering numbers to give the pianist a starting point. But fingering is a highly subjective affaire. Every pianist should feel free to adapt her/his own fingering as see fit. Sustain pedal usage The sustain pedal usage is very important in this arrangement (I included sustain pedal markings for this very reason). For one, it helps sustaining some notes that can't be held otherwise, and of course to make the sound fuller (more cinematic). It is important to use the pedal to create a sense of space (distance). After all, the original recording uses a lot of reverb to achieve that. Chord Symbols I did not include pop chord symbols because the harmony to the the song is very simple and based around 4 diatonic chords. It would just cludder up the score. At PopJazzKeys.com/Barbie I talk a little bit about the chords.
