Then, while playing in a summer band, I heard several flute players say they don't like playing piccolo unless it is just for short passages. That gave me the idea of a suite with small movements where I could implement my musical ideas. Each movement in this mini suite is a little sample of what the piccolo can do: arpeggio passages, imitation of birds, sweet melodies, chromatic runs, and of course, super high notes while changing meter.
