Bass Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1035485 Composed by William James Barnes. Arranged by Daniel Roberts. New Age,Rock. Score. 1 pages. Daniel P Roberts #640699. Published by Daniel P Roberts (A0.1035485). Car Seat Headrest, It's Only Sex note for note bass transcription 4 string bass with TAB. The other night I cried while thinking of having sex with you Not out of desire or shame but some subconscious impulse to feel pain I wiped my tears on my face and neck and the backs of my ears And said, Now it's sweat, now it's sweat, it's sweat now Just to see you It's such a treasure But when I feel you My flesh yields no pleasure And honey I'm cultured I'm very sex positive So what is this feeling? It ain't so positive I can't tell you if I like it, I like it What happens if I don't like it? I like it I can't tell you if I like it, I like it What happens if I don't like it? It's only OK, so I've been reading all the sex blogs And they all talk about how OK it is to be gay And straight and bisexual and asexual And have sex however you like But I don't care about hundreds of hypothetical people And their hypothetical sex deals I care about me, and my sex deal! What about my problems? Baby, my body Constantly betrays me I try to betray it I only hurt myself Yeah, yeah I can't tell you if I like it, I like it What happens if I don't like it? I like it I can't tell you if I like it, I like it What happens if I don't like it? It's only- It's only sex It's only It's only sex C'mon, sexual desire, speak! I want to hold you tight I want to feel your love physically I want to sleep with you But only in the literal sense I can't tell you if I like it, I like it What happens if I don't like it? I like you I can't tell you if I like it, I like it What happens if I don't like it? It's only- I can't tell you if I like it, I like it What happens if I don't like it? I like it I can't tell you if I like it, I like it What happens if I don't like it? It's only- It's only sex (it's only sex) It's only- It's only sex (no, it's not) It's only sex It's only- It's only sex It's only sex It's only-.

Piano,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.948808 Composed by Serghei Rachmaninov. Arranged by Adrian F. Pipas. 20th Century. 7 pages. Adrian F. Pipas #6642575. Published by Adrian F. Pipas (A0.948808). Здесь хорошо (Zdes' khorosho, How nice is here) was written in April 1902, in a sweet moment in the composer's life: he had overcome a creative block and had just married his cousin Natalia Sarina. Zdes' khorosho is n. 7 from Twelve Romances, op. 21, a beautiful song that talks about the bond between man, nature and God. It’s also a love song; One of the things I like the most is the balance between contemplation and passion that Rachmaninov accomplishes. The poem, by the Countess Glafira Adolfovna Einerling, a contemporary writer of the composer who wrote under the pseudonym of Galina, simply describes a sunset. I don't know if the landscape portrayed is similar to what Rachmaninov could see from his home but no doubt he felt it part of his own; he even changed the beginning of the poem so he said that the nice place was here. Zdes' khorosho is a song full of lyricism, seemingly simple but demanding for the singer (please pay attention to the pianissimo at the last verse, which seems to arise from nowhere), with an exquisite accompaniment. Some scholars think that the true essence of Rachmaninov is found in songs like that, rather than in his athletic piano concerts. In 1963, the Russian composer Vladimir Michailovich Jurowski (father and grandfather of conductors) orchestrated ten songs by Rachmaninov, including Zdes' khorosho, and there is a later orchestration of this song by Michael Rot. You know that I usually find it difficult to renounce the original piano versions, especially when the composer didn't orchestrated them, but I recommend you to listen to Anna Netrebko singing this song with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev. You might wonder why I don't share this version here, there are two reasons: first, I can’t do without that beautiful piano; two, I chose my version months ago (something that lately happens quite often). I said before that Zdes' khorosho is between contemplation and passion; Most of singers enhance the most contemplative perspective, that's the case of the lovely performance by Anna Netrebko. Others sing the most passionate version, like the one we’re listening today. Its tempo is faster than usual, it lasts about a minute and a half; maybe it would surprise you if you're used to slower versions. I hope you enjoy this song as much as me; I think this performance by Nicolai Gedda and Gerald Moore, recorded live in 1966, is wonderful.Source: Liederabend.cathttps://www.liederabend.cat/en/bloc/entrades/400-how-nice-it-is-here

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.913979 Composed by Arthur Breur. Pop,Rock. Score. 8 pages. Floating Home Music #4780747. Published by Floating Home Music (A0.913979). This piece was commissioned by Annette Saarinen for her granddaughter Aurora, who happens to be studying chemistry (among other things) so she can pursue her goals of working on environmental restoration.Composing a song that is a gift for a friend's granddaughter is fraught with a number of perils, particularly when one of the inspirations is that the recipient of the song likes Adele tunes. Adele's songs are mostly romantic songs about lost or unrequited love, so the lyrics couldn't really come across as being FROM the grandmother.Knowing that Aurora is studying chemistry, however, gave me a clue as to how I could make the piece work nicely: make it sound like a love song about the chemistry between two people, when in fact, the lyrics are talking about how our use of chemistry is both responsible for the state of our environment and the means we must use to fix it.I did use my usual trick of starting with words or names, and have composed both Aurora and Chemistry into the notes of the piece, the former in the accompaniment, and the latter as the foundation for the verse melody.Duration: 3m54s.

Piano,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1002836 Composed by Kyle Vanderburg. Contemporary. Score and part. 33 pages. NoteForge #6113517. Published by NoteForge (A0.1002836). I spent New Year's Eve 2018 in Nye, Montana, visiting family and friends. One of those friends is an imaging specialist who regaled us with an explanation of his most recent project, which he described as calibrating the moon. Specifically, he was talking about the NASA ARCSTONE mission to calibrate the moon's reflectance to use as an accurate reference, primarily in climate science. The idea is that we have all this data about global warming and atmospheric changes, and a lot of that data uses the brightness of the moon as a control variable, but we don't actually have a precise definition of how bright the moon is. Ever since I was a part of that conversation, I knew that I wanted calibrating the moon as a title, and everything that came after that plays with the idea of moon themes or of doing big impossible-sounding things. When Connor Challey approached me about writing for tuba, Calibrating the Moon was an obvious choice. The work opens with Syzygy, a term describing the straight line between the sun, moon, and Earth that occurs every new and full moon. The movement starts dark and brooding, moves to an energetic middle section, and returns to being mysterious, kind of like a lunar cycle. Fun fact: This movement's theme is actually a tuba setting of the phrase Calibrating the moon. The Second movement, Spectral Reflectance, is slow and shiny. NDSU was fortunate to have portfolio tubist (and Connor's mentor) Sam Pilafian as a visiting guest artist for several years, and I finished Syzygy around the time of his passing. I spent a lot of time thinking about Sam while putting the second movement together, and I quoted a couple of his favorite tuba concerti. The work ends with Libration. If you were to watch a time-lapse video of a lunar cycle, you'd notice that the moon not only transitions from new to full to new, but also sort of oscillates or wags. That's Libration. The movement is likewise off-kilter, playing with the listener's sense of time through alternating time signatures.https://kylevanderburg.com/music/calibrating-the-moon/

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1205401 Composed by Ben Clapton. Classical,Contemporary. Score and parts. 103 pages. Ben Clapton #803587. Published by Ben Clapton (A0.1205401). An Orchestral Fanfare, written for the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Perth. 2 Flutes (2nd doubling Piccolo), 2 Oboes, 2 Bb Clarinet, 2 Bassoon, 4 French Horns, 2 Trumpets in Bb, 2 Trombones, 1 Tuba, 4 Percussion (Timpani, Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Cymbals), Harp, StringsComposer's notes:2022 was a year that sparked inspiration for me. I am not talking about just one spark either, but a series that beautifully led me to the creation of my piece. After seeing the 2022 MetSO program it was evident that it lightly using the Brass players, and I knew they were feeling a bit underutilised. Which sparked the first idea in my mind to write a piece that would take full advantage of their skills, and heavily use brass instruments. The program coincided with the 45th Anniversay of the Orchestra which started it life as the Karrinyup Symphony Orchestra. Rekindling the orchestra’s relationship with the City of Stirling and returning to the City of Stirling as a rehearsal venue in 2023, was another spark of inspiration which led me towards the piece’s naming… the ‘Karrinyup Fanfare’. The last spark of inspiration was a query inside my mind. The opening of the piece contrasts two somewhat conflicting meanings of the word Karrinyup. During an Aboriginal Studies unit, I discovered that Karrinyup is a Noongar word that translates to “the place where there are spiders”. However, this differs from the City of Stirling official meaning of the name Karrinyup on the website. It states the word means “the place where Kangaroos drink”, possibly because it sounds much more pleasant and doesn’t inspire the fear that spiders often do. It was this contrary interpretation of the word ‘Karrinyup’ which provided the final spark of inspiration I needed for this composition. You see, when you listen to the opening, the theme jumps up and down through the horns, and represents the Kangaroo – Yongka. Whilst as the fanfare continues, you will notice the second theme – the crawling strings represent the spider – Kar. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it. May it, and this new year, spark inspiration for you.

Double Bass,String Bass Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869156 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Individual part. 44 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #31067. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869156). I received an email from Joel Quarrington in 2011 with a request to buy a score and a set of parts to Hylidae … The Tree Frogs (1991) for violin, double bass and piano. He said he would like to perform the work at the next International Society of Bassists convention in Rochester, New York.  I told him That is great.  But it’s such an old work.  Why don’t I write something new for you?   He said, How much would a commission cost?  I said, Let me write the piece first and if you like it, we can talk about a fee then. I began work on Toccata for Double Bass and Piano in late August and completed it on October 15.  I sent Joel the music as a PDF and MIDI file via email.  He wrote back, The piece looks really terrific and I have enjoyed listening to it as well, thanks for the midi file.  I couldn’t be happier! Toccata is in three movements, fast-slow-fast, with internal ABA ternary forms in the first and last movements - also fast-slow-fast. Moderato … Trio … A tempo. Adagio. Allegro … Trio … Reprise! The first movement begins with a driving dotted-note motif in the double bass accompanied by an insistent sixteenth-note bass-line in the piano left hand and a soaring quarter-note melody in the piano right hand.  A Trio follows which features a lyric melody in the double bass … molto cantabile!   The double bass returns this time stealing the sixteenth-note bass-line motif from the piano left hand.  The double bass pushes the music forward relentlessly and ferociously … holding no prisoners!  To add counterpoint to this madness, the piano comes back with the quarter-note melody but in octaves this time.  The left hand joins the melee occasionally to push the music forward until it reaches its climax at the conclusion. The second movement, Adagio, is a slow waltz.  The mournful tune is delivered by the double bass at first, then it’s passed on to the piano, and it goes back and forth between the two.  The third movement is a 6/8 romp, very syncopated and jazzy.  The music goes back and forth between the double bass and piano, not unlike when the musicians in a jazz combo trade four’s among each other.  An adagio Trio follows.  The tune is in the double bass: long descending lines over a languid piano accompaniment.  To complete the ABA format, the music from the beginning of this movement returns as a reprise. ENJOY!!! Commissioned by Joel Quarrington for a premiere performance at the 2013 International Society of Bassists Convention at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
