Easy Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596592 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary,Sacred,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Juan Maria Solare #5799759. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596592). About the music Both pieces of this diptych are miniatures with a structure quite similar to each of the pieces of the Album für die Jugend Opus 68 by Robert Schumann. The melodies are strongly rooted in Japanese music (particularly obvious in the second piece). Aesthetically, this is neoclassical music (a quite broad concept nowadays). Fans of Erik Satie, Ludovico Einaudi or Joep Beving will possibly feel at home. Both pieces were composed on 6 June 2020 (the first one with my daughter Laura sleeping on my breast). Find this music soon on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube or any other streaming platform (either under my name or performed by other pianists, possibly Iannis Eralos). Total duration: ca. 5:15.https://open.spotify.com/album/27MbJnfPjcolbQZAmNs8tKWeep Because Its Over: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWflYuEoLy8Smile Because It Happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SQFUlb7lFgAbout the titlesIn a poem by the German Romantic poet Ludwig Jacobowski titled Leuchtende Tage (Radiant Days) and published in August 1899, he writes:Nicht weinen, weil sie vorüber!Lächeln, weil sie gewesen!Literally:Don't cry because they are over (they: the radiant days)Smile because they happened.Usually it is quoted this way:Don't cry because it’s overSmile because it happened. For my piece, I adapted this idea und -not quite humbly- think that is better now: Do weep because it’s overBut also smile because it happened Why is it better now? Because… where is the issue with weeping? The first step is to accept that pain exists. Nobody has the moral authority to deny you the possibility of crying. Weeping is not a shame or a disgrace. Besides, only he who weeps is credible when he laughs.  By the way, these words are sometimes attributed to Confucius. I leave to you the task of determining whether Jacobowski borrowed this thought from him.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1300359 Composed by Andrea Morricone and Ennio Morricone. Arranged by ROBERT VAN HORNE. Classical,Film/TV,Historic,Instructional,Romantic Period. Score. 9 pages. White Piano International Publishing #890079. Published by White Piano International Publishing (A0.1300359). LOVE THEME from Cinema Paradiso (Piano Solo Arrangement)Advanced Intermediate Piano Solo9 pagesDuration is about 4:15I can’t remember when I first saw the movie CINEMA PARADISO…maybe in the Fall of 2018. The story and especially the music left me memorized and haunted by the themes of music intertwined with the characters portrayed in this beautiful and award winning movie. My favorite music from the movie is the “LOVE THEME composed by Ennio Morricone and his son Andrea Morricone. I think this exquisite music creates an atmosphere that is unforgettable, unique and quite memorable. After having the opportunity of watching the movie again in August 2023, I decided to create a piano arrangement of the LOVE THEME. The arrangement is an advanced intermediate piano solo. I incorporated my own style of arpeggios at the beginning and at the end of the arrangement with musical voicings to enhance the thematic melody. Also, I've included short melodic snippets from two of the other musical themes from the movie, connecting the beautiful LOVE THEME. The sheet music is clearly notated in the Classical tradition with dynamic and articulation marks, phrasing, pedal indications, suggested fingerings, chord identifications, and appropriate musical terms for playing.LOVE THEME from Cinema Paradiso is an excellent teaching piece and repertoire selection. It’s captivating melody is ideal for recitals and school musical events as well as an excellent encore for professionals…a delightful musical listening treat for audiences and for advancing piano students. The mp3 sample begins on page 6 of the piano arrangement.Robert Van Horne is a long standing member of ASCAP.Official Website: www.robertvanhorne.comEmail: rvh@robertvanhorne.com

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1108150 By Jon Thingvall. By Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Jon Thingvall. 19th Century,Christmas,Classical,March. Score. 16 pages. Jon Thingvall #710774. Published by Jon Thingvall (A0.1108150). Looking for a version of this classic that has those thrilling string runs toward the end, and the woodwind countermelodies? This may be it! Don't be intimidated by the fact that this arrangement is played at holiday receptions in the White House, or that it received the approval of acclaimed pianist, John Bayless. I wrote it for myself, and I'm not more than an Intermediate-level pianist. I arranged it out of frustration at not being able to find a version that had those thrilling, ascending string runs toward the end. It may sound difficult, but that simply shows how Maestro Tchaikovsky was able to create an interwoven, arabesque-like frieze out of just a few notes. If you can play the Schirmer edition Suite, or even just some of it, you'll have no trouble with this one. Maestro Mikhail Pletnev's arrangement has the string runs in it, but the way he wrote them is so virtuosic that, brilliant as it is, there is no way I could play it. So, I had to write one out for myself. I'm pretty pleased with it, and think you will be too. The PDF is in two sections; one with written suggestions that may be helpful, and the other without them.

Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus divisi - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1487909 Composed by Stanley M Hoffman. Arranged by Stanley M Hoffman. 20th Century,Classical,Jewish. 12 pages. Stanleymhoffman.com #1064840. Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.1487909). Composer’s Notes  Anim Zemiros was composed in 1985 while I was a doctoral student of Martin Boykan at Brandeis University. The initial fugal theme was inspired by the melody from the third movement of Beethoven's Quartet in A Minor, Op. 132, also known as Heiliger Dankgesang. My theme resembles Beethoven's melody in two ways: it aurally approximates the rhythms of his theme and it also takes the contour of Beethoven's melody and inverts it, also in an approximated way. This is where the similarities to Beethoven's theme end, forAnim Zemiros is most certainly not composed in the Lydian mode! Rather, it is composed in a chromatically saturated musical language. Although Anim Zemiros may be used for the Jewish Musaf Sabbath Service, it was conceived as a concert piece. In the synagogue, this hymn is sung responsively by the cantor and congregation. The responsive nature of this hymn is what inspired the use of contrapuntal passages alternating with homophonic ones. Anim Zemiros begins with a statement of the initial fugal theme in the basses followed by a response at the interval of a fifth in the altos during which the basses present the counter theme. After a brief episode, the same thing happens in the tenor and soprano voices while the basses and altos present new contrapuntal melodies. A brief, contrasting, calm homophonic chorale passage ensues (a textural foreshadowing of both the loud climax and the hushed closing of the piece). This is followed by an extended development section (like ones from sonata-allegro movements) in which ideas from both the contrapuntal and homophonic sections are fragmented and stratified. Shifting time signatures provide added momentum to this music that leads to the homophonic climax that follows. Next comes an “anti-fugue” in which the initial fugal theme is presented backwards, as is the fugal form itself, moving from four voices, to three and finally to two. However, rather than moving to one voice as at the opening of the piece (which would have been a very predictable thing to do), the piece ends with a reminiscence of the calm homophonic chorale. Ashkenazic pronunciation was chosen over Sephardic for two reasons. I wished to have the s sound on the Hebrew letter sov rather than the t sound. In addition, Ashkenazic pronunciation is considered to be somewhat archaic since Sephardic is used in modern Hebrew. I felt this gave me artistic license to compose vocal lines containing correct or incorrect syllabic stress for purely musical effect. I deemed it necessary to state this at the outset of the score, lest one think that this composition contains errors in text-setting.Ashkenazic Transliteration An-im zemiros veshirim e-erog,Ki eilecho nafshi sa-arog.Naf-shi chimedo betseil yodecho,Loda-as kol roz sodecho,Midei daberi bichevodecho,Ho-me libi el dodecho.Ye-eravno sichi olecho,Ki nafshi sa-arog eilecho.English TranslationI will chant sweet hymns and compose songs,For my soul pants after you.My soul has longed to be beneath the shadow of your hand,To know all of your mysteries.Even while I speak of your glory,My heart yearns for your love.May my meditation be pleasant unto you,For my soul pants after you.

Choral Choir (2-Part) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1099392 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Children,Classical,Instructional. Octavo. 9 pages. Sally Whitwell #703279. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.1099392). Do you want to build a rocket? was originally composed for a wonderful group of children I worked with at the Young Music Society Winter School in Canberra. The first day that I went in to meet them, I sat down with them on the floor and asked them what kind of performance they wanted to build. It was around the time that the Disney animated feature Frozen was very popular with kids. Or not, as it turns out, because one little boy’s hand shot up straight away and he said: “Tell you what I don’t wanna build: a stupid snowman!†He suggested we build a rocket instead. So that’s what we did. It’s a song about the wonder and curiosity we feel about the universe, of our desire to explore it, and of the determination and grit required to achieve that dream. It’s some very hard yards to build a rocket and to learn to fly it, but our dreams are always worth the work! I hope you have fun with this song. Teachers, I invite you to get as theatrical as you dare with it. In our original performance we had all these toy instruments, toy toolkits, and painted cardboard boxes. (So many boxes!). Let’s just say, if you think it’s gonna be ‘too much’, it’s probably exactly the right amount. Sally Whitwell August 2022.

Published by Kovats Istvan (A0.1438245). Hi cellists,I made this score for myself, when I was practicing this solo part. It's has the cello solo (which is in fact accompaniment) and Rigoletto's line. I think the biggest challenge of this piece is to follow the singer, for me it was much easier with this score, I hope it will be useful for you, too.I wrote the fingerings and bowings exactly how I played.TIPS: If you don't like the bowings you can try the original bowing of the group of sixteens: down-down (legato) - up-up (staccato) - down (stacc) - up (stacc) in the bar 13, in the the second group of sixteens the octaves could be slured two by two. It could be VERY HELPFUL to listen to the aria, without playing, just with this score in your hand. Good luck!

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.733415 Composed by Kimberly Steele. Sacred. Score. 1 pages. Kimberly Steele #6619661. Published by Kimberly Steele (A0.733415). As the sole copyright owner of this music, I have a strange favor to ask: I beg that you ADAPT and CHANGE this piece's music to suit your needs. Obviously the words are set in place; they are in worship and service of a specific deity. The music, however, needs to be malleable. Change the rhythm. Change the key. Change the mode. Add sections. Improvise. Here's the thing: when music stays the same and is played exactly the same as it supposedly was in the past, it becomes museum music. Personally, though I've had extensive training in the subject, I can't stand museum music. No matter how pretty or perfectly-played museum music is, it will always have an air of deadness about it. So change this tune, beat it up, deconstruct it, pull it apart and put it together again, because that's what I think the gods would want us to do. In my mind, keeping the tunes alive, flexible, and vital helps us connect with the gods who gave us the ability to create music in the first place.

I borrowed the Slave To The Rhythm LP from the library, put it on the turntable, and thought this is different. This track was the last track on the A-side. As I further listened to the LP I realized that the album used the same song in different genres, format, and keys. You wouldn't know it unless you really listened to the LP. This arrangement, however, is in the original key from her Island Life LP. This song has funk all over it. Grace is a strange character but has a great voice. HopSez Productions #2965873. Published by HopSez Productions (A0.803461). Comfort, Comfort Now My People is a hymn based on Isaiah 40 (think of the air in Handel's Messiah). It can be sung by a choir (separate mens' and womens' parts) and/or sung by a congregation. Here you have an arrangement with a definite Renaissance feel. I can hear finger cymbals ringing a counter rhythm throughout (sorry, I didn't write it in, but I'm sure you can figure it out). The parts are open and airy and the song has a light, joyous feel to it. While the instruments are published as violin, cello and drone (piano, etc) this should be playable by any pairings of treble and bass instruments that play in C. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed putting together the arrangement! PH Jan2017.

As the name entails, this piece is meant to reflect the warm summer breeze that moves over your skin and through your hair. The piece travels through a variety of moods, like a warm summer breeze would throughout the day. It begins as a calm and inviting gentle breeze that is comfortable to sit in and then it begins to take off as it moves into the following sections. After a tumultuous journey, the breeze finally settles again and returns to a gentle breeze in the afternoon. When writing this piece, I wanted to keep it simple and easy to listen to, but I couldn’t help but explore where the idea wanted to go. I think that this is a recurring theme for most of the pieces in this album as they have a section that is calm and of a reflective nature but then there are other sections that are more active and agile. It’s something I find difficult to write a piece that sticks to the one style, theme, or mood and really explores it deeply, but something that I’m inspired to do in my future compositions.
