Then God says to draw near unto Him and He will draw near unto you. When  God draws close  to us, we will recieve His strength and power to leave the addiction behind. With Him we can overcome anything.

It was popularized by Fats Waller, who recorded it in 1935 at the height of his fame. It is one of several songs from the Harlem Renaissance featured in the Broadway musical Ain't Misbehavin'. American Public Media's business-news program, Marketplace, uses a portion of Fats Waller's version to open its weekly letters-from-listeners segment. In Merchant's words, it expresses a craving we all share now for the world we took for granted and lost. The words could now be seen as taking on a new relevance to life during a pandemic, and a plea to keep us safe: Motherland cradle me, close my eyes, lullaby me to sleep, keep me safe, lie with me, stay beside me, don’t go. This arrangement is written as a piano solo for Intermediate to Advanced players, but would also work well as an accompaniment to a vocalist.
