Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813981 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,World. 7 pages. Regis Bookshar #6635887. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813981). Woodwind Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of Silent Night, or in German, Stille Nacht, would be a wonderful addition to any music library and could be performed for Christmas concerts, recitals, and, especially, church services. It is equally suitable for junior and senior high school students and even older musicians. Depending on their ability, younger musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (7 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Silent Night is probably the most popular Christmas carol ever written. It was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr and was first performed on Christmas Eve at St. Nicholas parish church in Oberndorf, a small village in present-day Austria. A young Catholic priest, Father Joseph Mohr, had written the poem, Stille Nacht, in 1816 and had gone to Oberndorf in 1817. The melody was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber, schoolmaster and organist in the nearby village of Arnsdorf. On Christmas Eve, 1818, Mohr brought the words to Gruber and asked him to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for that night's mass, after river flooding had possibly damaged the church organ. The church was eventually destroyed by repeated flooding and has since been replaced with the Silent-Night-Chapel.According to Gruber, Karl Mauracher, an organ builder who serviced the instrument at the Oberndorf church, was enamored with the song, and took the composition home with him to the Ziller Valley in Tyrol, Austria. From there, two traveling families of folk singers, the Strassers and the Rainers, included the tune in their shows. The Rainers were already singing it around Christmas, 1819, and once performed it for an audience that included Franz I of Austria and Alexander I of Russia. They also gave the first performance of the song in the United States in New York City in 1839. By the 1840's, the song was well known and was reported to be a favorite of Frederick William IV of Prussia. During this period, the melody changed slightly to become the version that is commonly heard today. The version of the melody that is generally used today is a slow, meditative lullaby, or pastoral, differing slightly from Gruber's original which has a moderate tempo. The song has been translated into about 140 languages and has been recorded by many singers across many music genres. The version sung by Bing Crosby in 1935, has sold over 10 million copies as a single. In this arrangement of Silent Night, Regis Bookshar has kept the basic form of this familiar Christmas carol, but has also included a descant during the third verse. Also, in addition to this version for a Woodwind Quintet, consisting of 1 Flute, 1 Oboe, 1 Clarinet, 1 French Horn and 1 Bassoon, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for purchase. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Silent Night will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Drums,Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1495629 By Gloria Gaynor. By Harry Simeone, Henry Onorati, and Katherine K. Davis. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Christmas,Pop,Standards. 7 pages. Phil Beaman #1072152. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1495629). Here is a 'must-have' standard for your Christmas season, The Little Drummer Boy; presented here in a simple arrangement in C for piano and solo drum.  It begins with the drum only, slowly adds LH piano then both hands for Verse 1; then both piano and drum adds some more texture for Verse 2, then it slowly unwinds and ends with only the drum.  This arrangement was written for a specific duo; a beginning first year middle school drummer and a slightly arthritis pianist.  Thus the drumming is very basic and steady patterns with long stretches before a slight pattern change (there are 5 different patterns).  And thus the piano part has a LH of mostly broken arpeggios so it can be played by rolling the wrist instead of using finger strength, and the RH is all simple detached chords so the arm can go up and down, and it rarely expands beyond a 6th, again, taking the pressure and movement off of the fingers.  Nevertheless, this is still a piece full of character and great for a featured solo this season!

A lot of fun for your beginner wind or brass band!  With a two note part for complete beginners to an octave range for players who are further on, there is a part for everyone!   This composition builds up over a repeating bass line with each melody instrument able to play a repeating part or moving on to a more difficult section each time.  There are lyrics for each part based around our favourite chicken shops which make it easy to learn to sing it in parts before you learn to play it. Why not spend some time getting the young people in your band to change the lyrics to their favourite foods?  Or perhaps they could write a healthier version? Mixed Percussion B-Flat Tuba,B-Flat trombone,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Bass Trombone,E-Flat Cornet,E-Flat Tenor Horn,E-Flat Tuba TC,Flugelhorn,Percussion 1,Percussion 2,Tenor Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1438467 By Graham Hamilton. By Graham Hamilton. Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Historic,Medieval. Brass Band. 83 pages. Hambone Music #1018484. Published by Hambone Music (A0.1438467). A beautiful slow melody in 4/4 followed by a rousing 6/4 trek with fanfares then returning to the slow melody in 4/4. Not overly difficult but players should be around Grade 5 (ABRSM) and bands of around 2nd to 3rd section, although still possible with 4th section bands. Inspired by an old ruined church in my town called the 'Cross Kirk' during the times of the Cromwellian invasion of Scotland.Part 1 It is around the year 1650. A novice monk awakes from his slumber to the echoes of prayers and holy chanting coming through the cloisters. After he rises, he readies the oxen for a trek down the St. Andrews Road to the nearby satellite site of the priory - the site of the modern day St Andrew's cemetery. Part 2  It is an arduous trek over a muddy, rocky, unprepared track with heavy carts, with oxen straining to pull the load. They stop for a breather (3:09) and the impressive vistas are observed and the flag at 'Auld Neidpath' is just visible, reflected in the noble theme between the arduous oxen trekking theme. Part 3 The caravan starts to speed up; the oxen being startled by the sounds of fanfare trumpets coming from behind - a brave group of knights have broken through English lines and speed towards Neidpath to reinforce the besieged occupants. As they pass the wagon train, the fanfares get louder until the party reach the head of the train where the lead Knight halts to show piety to the Hieromonk who blesses him and his knights. The novice looks on awe-inspired at the brave knights, with noble faces, resplendent in shining armour, with banners flapping in the wind.  No time to stop! The knights remount and continue on, the fanfares trailing off into the distance. The wagon train slows down having reached its destination. Part 4  The novice is back at the priory, reflecting on seeing knights for the first time (receiving their blessing); their nobility and bravery impressed upon him and retires to his cell for the evening, the evening prayers and chants again echoing through the cloisters . As he closes his eyes, his mind returns to the knights and a smile crosses his face as he gently drifts off to sleep, as the final bell of the day tolls.

Voice Duet Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.893704 Composed by K.J. Murdock, based on F. Chopin. Contemporary,Instructional,Musical/Show,Romantic Period,Standards. 11 pages. Kristopher James Murdock #3097989. Published by Kristopher James Murdock (A0.893704). Music teachers -- piano, vocal, or music theatre! Are you wondering how to pique the interest of your students (and their recital audiences) in the heightened and ever shifting musical emotionalism of the Romantic style, while staying relevant to today by using a timeless story that arrests their attention? Do you need an expressive recital piece that will demonstrate your students' abilities in a wide range of expression? The solution to both of these problems is this dramatic piano-vocal arrangement of Behind The Maestro's Mask, from Revelation & Restoration's musical The Maestro's Mask: The Untold Story of the Opera Ghost. The song allows intermediate singers to moderately challenge their vocal emotional expression, and you may wish to accompany them yourself on the piano, yet it's also useful as an instrumental solo piece for a piano student. With music based on the A-C sections of Chopin's Polonaise, Op. 26, No. 1 in C# minor and Db major, but transposed and adapted in the easier keys of G minor and G major, this piece will act as a step up for your moderately advanced piano student, preparing for Chopin's work. (There are significant differences between this song and Chopin's Polonaise, particularly on pages 1 and 8-11.)Disclaimer: This piece quotes from Frédéric Chopin's public domain work, Polonaise, Op. 26, No. 1 and is part of Revelation & Restoration's musical The Maestro's Mask: The Untold Story of the Opera Ghost, which is based on a sequel to Gaston LeRoux's public domain novel Le Fantôme de l'Opéra. The musical is not a sequel to Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical version of The Phantom of the Opera. Let the desert now rejoice, blossom as the rose.   Fire or frost, wind or rain; may my work not be in vain. Help me prosper ev'ry day. Keep the locust still at bay. Through each trial, help me stand, in Thy strength repose. Let the desert now rejoice, blossom as the rose.   In my soul, deserts be, waiting to be turned by Thee.
