Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1397472 Composed by Don George, Duke Ellington, Harry James, and Johnny Hodges. Arranged by Christopher J. Malin. 20th Century,Jazz,Standards. Individual part. 1 pages. Christopher J. Malin #980800. Published by Christopher J. Malin (A0.1397472). Solo jazz guitar chord/melody arrangement with tablature. Seldom heard standard in this style. Beautiful, instantly recognizable melody. I think of this one as Duke Ellington's signature piece. This piece makes you stand out as a solo jazz guitarist of all idioms. Some chords are played as triads or dyads or eliminated, and single notes are used. I draw a line over the note if it's the high note of a chord or I use a dot if it's played as a single note, the chord is then in parentheses. I tend to use a minimalist style that keeps the important parts of the music. Sounds great on acoustic and electric guitars. If someone asks you to play a swing jazz tune this is a archetypical piece. This is a jazz classic! Every jazz guitarist should have this in their repitore. I love this tune! Hope you will too.

Christmas,Praise & Worship,Romantic Period,Sacred,Traditional. Score and parts. 12 pages. Sharon Wilson #3628979. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565254). This instrumental trio (for FLUTE and/or VIOLIN with PIANO accompaniment) arrangement of the familiar hymn tune CRANHAM, long associated with the poem In the Bleak Midwinter by Christina Georgina Rossetti, is an ideal instrumental selection for the Christmas season. The FLUTE part plays the melody for the first verse and the VIOLIN part plays the melody for the second verse while the piano provides a flowing, delicate accompaniment throughout.Though notated with FLUTE on part 1 and VIOLIN on part 2, the ranges are also accessible for other combinations of C instruments (2 violins, 2 flutes, etc.). The range for each part is as follows: FLUTE ~ A4 to A5; VIOLIN ~ E4 to A5. For the violin on either part, all notes are playable in the first position making this piece an excellent choice for early intermediate string players. The purchase price includes these printing options: 1. a grand staff (4 pages) with all parts on each page

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797738 Composed by Leslie Osborne and Simon May. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary. Score and parts. 25 pages. Derek Hasted #4327089. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797738). ALWAYS THERE (Howard's Way) - 4 GUITARS or LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes You might not know this piece - it was the theme to the UK Television Series Howard’s Way which was broadcast between 1985 and 1990. It was composed as an instrumental with an incessant beat and a disco-like break in the middle. The piece was re-worked as the much more laid-back song Always There by Marti Webb; the song rose high into the Top Twenty. It also opened her album of the same name. But the song version lost much of the drive of the original. As this quartet arrangement is for playing, not singing, it makes sense to put all the drive back in!If you visit YouTube you will find some recordings of the original theme and these should point you in the right direction to make this piece blossom into a big wall of sound...It's for an intermediate quartet or large ensemble. Guitar 4 is tuned 6=D and is the most straightforward line. There's a version of Guitar 4 in bass clef for contra or electric bass, and here normal tuning is used. Guitar 3 is all arpeggios, mainly in first position. Guitars 1 and 2 take the tune and countermelodies. It's a foot-tapping piece that audiences will love!I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811821 Composed by Jacqes Hotteterre (1673 - 1763). Arranged by Pat pence. Baroque,Concert,Graduation,Holiday,Standards. 24 pages. Piper Publications #6615111. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811821). This Trio Sonata is the first of a set of six published in Paris in 1712 for pairs of ‘fluÌ‚tes traversieres, fluÌ‚tes a bec, violons, hautbois, &c.’ with continuo by Mr. Hotteterre, FluÌ‚te de la Chambre du Roy. They were dedicated to the Duke of Orleans and published ‘avec privilege du Roy.’ The first Sonata has been edited and arranged for flute, oboe & clarinet in Bb. The four movements, Prelude, Fugue, Grave and Gigue, are in the Baroque style with the interest equally shared between the three parts. Dynamics in the 1712 edition are French - doux and fort. These have been standardised as p & f. The top parts were printed in the soprano clef - with g on the bottom line as was common in France at the time. Amusingly this led to some modern ill informed speculation about flutes of the period being expected to play low bs! In this edition all edits are shown using parentheses ( ) or dashed lines. The Trio is suitable for players of intermediate standard and above and provides repertoire in the French Baroque style for  an ensemble of players just a few years beyond the reach of Hotteterre.

This marvelous arrangement of the Russian Dance from Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's extremely popular, The Nutcracker Suite, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but would be most appropriate during the Holiday season. This selection has been arranged to keep all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (15 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. The Nutcracker is an 1892 two-act ballet with a score by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960's and is performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in North America. Tchaikovsky's score has become one of his most famous compositions. Some critics have called it astonishingly rich in detailed inspiration and from beginning to end, beautiful, melodious, original and characteristic. The ballet's first complete performance outside Russia took place in England in 1934. The first complete United States performance was on December 24, 1944, by the San Francisco Ballet. It was such an enormous success that the San Francisco Ballet has presented The Nutcracker every Christmas Eve and throughout the winter season, debuting new productions in 1944, 1954, 1967 and 2004. In Salt Lake City, it has been performed every year since 1963. The New York City Ballet gave its first annual performance in 1954. In addition to annual live stagings of the work, many productions have also been televised or released on home video. The Nutcracker continues to be one of Tchaikovsky's most popular compositions and contains some of his most memorable works. Tchaikovsky made a selection of eight of the numbers from the ballet before the ballet's December 1892 premiere, forming The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a, and is intended for concert performance. The suite was first performed, under the composer's direction, on March 19, 1892. The suite became instantly popular with almost every number encored at its premiere.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could also have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful compositions, originally scored for a full orchestra, and has arranged two of the selections, the popular March and the Russian Dance, one of the character dances, based on the Russian and Ukrainian folk dance, Trepak, for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. So, in addition to this version of the Russian Dance, for a Brass Octet, consisting of 3 Trumpets, 2 French Horns, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. If you should decide to purchase this arrangement of the Russian Dance, I would highly encourage you to also consider purchasing the arrangement of the March as well. Scheduling the March followed by the Russian Dance would be a very satisfying addition to any concert or recital. Please take the time to look for other versions of these compositions. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase.
