Saxophone Solo,Soprano Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.951672 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Travis Hayman. Holiday. Individual part. 5 pages. Travis Hayman #6626827. Published by Travis Hayman (A0.951672). The New-England Boy's Song about Thanksgiving Day, also known as Over the River and Through the Wood, is a Thanksgiving poem by Lydia Maria Child, originally published in 1844 in Flowers for Children, Volume 2. Although many people sing to grandmother's house we go, the author's original words were to grandfather's house we go. Moreover, in modern American English, most people use the word woods rather than wood in reference to a forest, and sing the song accordingly.

Small Ensemble B-Flat Clarinet,Bass Clarinet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028052 Composed by Sarah Hersh. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 59 pages. Burbury Lane Music #3368591. Published by Burbury Lane Music (A0.1028052). River Music is a fun and accessible piece that has received much positive feedback in the clarinet world and has been performed many times, including at the International Clarinet Association's ClarinetFest. It is an approximately 8 minute piece for two Bb clarinets and bass clarinet that would be equally at home on an environmental-themed concert or any other type of program. It is a relatively advanced piece but has been performed by high school students. River Music was written for Clarinets for Conservation.Program Note: River Music was inspired by my time one summer spent on the Chattahoochee River and at the Chattahoochee Nature Center near Atlanta, Georgia. I have always had a connection to bodies of water, having spent many summers and weekends at the lake by my grandparents’ house in New York. While sometimes I feel like an outsider as a New Yorker living in the South, as soon as I got on the river, canoeing down the Chattahoochee, I felt at home again. Something about the river reminds me of my childhood on Lake Peekskill, and River Music was partially inspired by that connection.Once I started writing the piece, it took on a life of its own, as water and nature (and composing) often does. One reason I’ve always felt strongly about environmentalism and protecting our natural environment is that all of it – the trees, the earth, the rivers, the lakes – has been here long before we came along and started messing it up, and it will (hopefully) be here long after we’re gone, as long as we make sure to protect these natural spaces and wilderness areas. I often think about how much trees have seen, and as I wrote this piece I started thinking about how much the river has seen too. I hear stories in River Music, and to me it’s the river telling us some, though certainly nowhere near all, of its stories.Perhaps River Music will take you, the listener, on a journey down the river-not just through space, but through time. You might hear some of the same stories I hear. Or you may not. Part of the beauty of writing a piece inspired by a river is that I hope you hear in it whatever the river means to you.Note: The sheet music includes a score, regular set of parts, and a bonus set of parts that include a partial score underneath the main part. The composer is a member of ASCAP and may be reached at www.sarahhersh.com or sarahhershcomposer@gmail.com.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1239680 Composed by David M. Stewart. March. Score and Parts. 92 pages. DMStewart Music #835071. Published by DMStewart Music (A0.1239680). This piece, The Palatka Port March, is intended to depict a little of the sense of life in the early years of Florida on the St. John’s River. It was once a target for ships venturing out to find the New World. It has been used to ferry barges and livestock. Some simply used it for sailing and transportation throughout the years, and some to catch fish to provide for themselves. The life on this river has been diverse, yet fulfilling over the years and will continue to be so in the future.   The melodies in this piece were taken from the shape of the St. Johns River from its upper point in Jacksonville, to where our part of the story ends in Palatka. Notice the falling and rising 8th note runs at the beginning, this represents the rise and the fall of the river as it enters Jacksonville from the Atlantic Ocean. The first strain is a linear, yet very regal melody where the heavy beats follow the contour of the river as it runs south. Here you can picture the ships coming from Europe across the ocean and the excitement they felt when they reached it. The second strain is more playful and represents the life that the river has provided for people for centuries. The Trio represents the calmness and civility when Palatka was discovered, and the happiness the settlers must have felt knowing they had found their perfect place to call home. The break strain represents the hard work and efforts that were put forth to secure the land and build a community. There would have been many triumphs and many successes, but the journey would have not been easy. The final strain is the culmination of the piece. This is the celebration and the feeling of personal nobility that all of the settlers felt after taking a river and dirt and building a city. I hope you enjoy, The Palatka Port March!

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1093770 Composed by F. Leslie Smith. Folk,Holiday,Traditional. Score and parts. 57 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #697853. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1093770).      The dictionary defines revel as “a time or instance of carefree fun.†The verb tipple refers to the imbibing of spirits. A tippler is one who drinks beer, wine, whiskey or other such spirituous liquids. So a tipplers revel would be a gathering of folks who, in the words of Dolly Parton’s “Two Doors Down,†are “laughing and drinking and having a party.†     This Tipplers Revel is a compilation of traditional drinking songs. It begins and ends with that bane of school trips, faculty sponsors, bus drivers and chaperones, “99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.†And between those two bookends come “Rye Whiskey,†“Little Brown Jug,†“Landlord, Fill the Flowing Bowl,†“Jimmy Crack Corn,†“Beer, Beer, Beer (An Ode to Charlie Mops, The Man Who Invented Beer),†“Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight,†“Wein, Weib und Gesang [Wine, Woman, and Song],†“Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes,†“There Is a Tavern in the Town,†“Good Night, Ladies,†“How Dry I Am,†and brief quotes from about a half dozen other melodies associated with quaffing.      For the most part, this arrangement’s time signature is 4/4 and should be played at about 120 BPM. There are, however, two sections of 3/4 time, one of which is marked “tempo di valse,†and the opening and ending few measures should be played rather slowly.      The music should be well within the normal range of the group. Possible exceptions: trumpets play their A above the staff a couple of times.      There are quite a few 16th notes in the allegro sections. (And one could make the argument that at least two sections ought to have been written in 6/8 time. But they weren’t.)      Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 6 minutes, 43 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.)

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1454722 Composed by Al Stillman and Elmer Bernstein. Arranged by John Langley / Studio Orchestrations. Film/TV,Historic,March,Patriotic,Thriller. 106 pages. Www.studio-orchestrations.com #1033795. Published by www.studio-orchestrations.com (A0.1454722). The Great Escape (1963) is one of the great American epic war adventure films starring some of the greatest actors of the age like Steve McQueen, James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson, Donald Pleasence, James Coburn, David McCallum, Gordon Jackson, among many others.  The soundtrack was composed by Elmer Bernstein who had enjoyed great acclaim for his music for the 1960 epic The Magnificent 7 (also starrring Steve McQueen).  The Great Escape March theme is regarded as one of the best loved war film themes harnessing both a British and an American patriotic flavour in its themes.  Its bitter sweet jauntiness successfully catches the mood of the film, the optimism and indominatable spirit of the prisoners always hell bent on trying to escape, and the German march theme also makes a brief appearance to reflect all the voices in the narrative of the story.  Other film composers have used a similar approach using a jaunty march theme like Bernstein does - notably The bridge over the river Kwai and A bridge too far - while other composers have tried (arguably) less successfully to encapsulate appropriate pathos alongside that optimism in the 'optimistic' themes. This arrangement is a great bite sized orchestral excerpt appropriate for any concert of film music, or military war/historic themes. INSTRUMENTATION:FlutePiccolo2 Oboes2 Clarinets2 Bassoons4 Horns4 Trumpets3 TrombonesTubaTimpani3 Percussion [Bass Drum/Cymbals/2 Side Drums]StringsFeel free to browse other similar titles on this website written by John langley and Paul Campbell at www.studio-orchestrations.com

String Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.1126780 Composed by Benedito Pratama. Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. 14 pages. Benedito Pratama #727430. Published by Benedito Pratama (A0.1126780). Tales From The Northern Woods tells a story from the composer's daydream. As person who is born and raised in a big, metropolitan city, the composer wanted to tell a story of what it feels like to begin an adventure in the woods. An adventure of a peaceful life, a life that is neither caged nor surrounded by the ‘concrete jungle’ in the big city, where there is only green. Miles of green, where a small village sits on the banks of the river, beautiful, idyllic, and lush. Somewhere that probably only exists in epic high-fantasy stories. Full of exciting and tense adventure. Tales From The Northern Woods is one of the three winners of the 5th Young Indonesian Composer Competition that was held on January 2022. Premiered by The Bandung Philharmonic on Chamber Music Konser Pemenang Kompetisi Komponis Muda Indonesia, 14 May 2022, at Auditorium Gedung PPAG UNPAR.

Cello,Flute,Harp - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1011233 Composed by Matthew H Schwarz. 20th Century,Contemporary,Rock. 23 pages. Matthew H Schwarz #6794483. Published by Matthew H Schwarz (A0.1011233). An intermediate/advanced level work for folk (or pedal) harp, flute, and cello.  The harp part contains no lever/pedal changes and there are no extended techniques, but there are high and fast passages for the flute and cello.  Harp range is 4-1/2 octaves (D2 below bass cleff to G6 an octave above treble).  The cello part could be played on a 7-string or down-tuned guitar.Inspired by the first chapter of Kenneth Graham's Wind in the Willows, the opening represents a lazy row down the river, over harp arpeggios inspired by early 70s folky progressive rock.  The music livens up and harp arpeggios illustrate the boat tipping over as Rat and Mole sink down into the water and float back up.  An exciting section starting at 3:45 represents getting caught in the rapids, with wild runs in flute and cello over driving harp figures.
