Sharon Wilson #683208. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.1079009). After waiting at the station, the train finally arrives and then the conductor shouts those anxiously anticipated words All Aboard. This upbeat song may stretch the hands with its steady off-beat 3-note chords. If it's too much of a stretch, use the pedal lightly to achieve the sustained upper notes in the right hand. This arrangement is one of the five songs in the collection Railroad Days. Other titles in the collection include: Waiting at the Station, Full Steam Ahead, Chugging Along, and Caboose on the Loose. String Quintet Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1486478 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Zoran Radanovic. Folk,Multicultural,Standards,Traditional,Wedding,World. 74 pages. Zoran Radanovic #1063541. Published by Zoran Radanovic (A0.1486478). This arrangement is famous romanian song for professional string quintet with set of parts.Ovaj aranžman je poznata rumunska pesma za profesionalni guda?ki kvintet sa partiturama. Ciocârlia (meaning the skylark) is a Romanian tune, allegedly composed by the Romani-Romanian pan flute player Anghelu? Dinicu[1][2] in the virtuosic style of the urban l?utareasc? music from late 19th century. Anghelu? Dinicu first presented the tune in 1889 at the inauguration of the Eiffel Tower. However, the most famous version would become that of his grandson Grigora? Dinicu, that adapted the tune for violin. George Enescu also was inspired by Ciocârlia for his composition the Romanian Rhapsody No. 1 for orchestra. Ciocârlia has been covered numerous times, but because it is a piece of l?ut?reasc? music and not a piece of Romanian peasant music it cannot be considered representative for the Romanian peasant spirit.[3] In the case of the Ciocârlia, like with other famous tunes of l?ut?reasc? music, there were attempts to hide the name of the composer in order to make it seem anonymous/traditional.[4] It is known as Ševa (????) and ?u?uliga (????????) in Serbian, Bulgarian and Macedonian. It has also become highly popular in the Jewish Klezmer repertoire.[5] In Georgia, the tune became widely adopted into traditional folk music repertoire and is known as Torola (??????, the lark)[6] During the communist-era, the Romanian intelligence service operated a numbers station believed to be used by spies in foreign countries. The station known as V01 became well known for its use of Ciocârlia as its opening interval, which would be followed by a series of number-coded messages in Romanian and concluded with the words Terminat. The station fell off the air soon after the 1989 coup and overthrow of Ceausescu.[7] The song was featured as part of the soundtrack for the 2009 Ubisoft game Rabbids Go Home, performed by Moldovan gypsy brass band Fanfare Vagabontu.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.870845 Composed by Charlie Barnet. Arranged by Lawrence Killian. Contemporary. Score and parts. 18 pages. Linden Brass Press Inc. #6655763. Published by Linden Brass Press Inc. (A0.870845). From Wikipedia: Charles Daly Barnet (October 26, 1913 – September 4, 1991) was an American jazz saxophonist, composer, and bandleader.Skyliner...was written as the theme music for the late 1940s US Armed Forces Network program Midnight In Munich, broadcast from the AFN station in Munich, Germany, and hosted by Ralph Moffat. Thanks to the station's immensely powerful twin 100 kW transmitters, AFN Munich could be heard as far away as the UK; this, and the popularity of Moffat's show, evidently helped Skyliner and many other contemporary American swing hits to gain wide popularity across Europe and become hits in the UK. The title (which was originally printed as Sky Liner) may be a reference to the practice of American pilots flying into Munich who used the radio station's powerful signal to home in on the city.

Small Ensemble Flute,Guitar,Oboe,Piano,Ukulele,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1013011 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Na-Mara. Celtic,Folk,World. Score and parts. 1 pages. Na-Mara #5791381. Published by Na-Mara (A0.1013011). Muiñeira de Lugo: this traditional muiñeira from Galicia (Spain) is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara. A jig-like dance tune, written in 6/8 time in the Key of G, Muiñeira de Lugo  can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played at andante or at a medium fast or allegro speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. As it is a dance–like tune, try to keep the tempo even, particularly at the beginning with the dotted notes in the melody. The guitar accompaniment can be played with strummed chords. Sometimes we play the first time at a slow tempo, and then a faster / tempo speed the second time around. When we play this live we make a two-part set by starting with our arrangement of the Spanish Galician Muiñeira Muiñeira de Morrazo, and finishing with the Muiñeira de Lugo.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. They have also used it alongside other tunes in workshops as a teaching and learning resource, introducing players to tunes from different parts of the Celtic world.Recordings of this and other tunes on SMP can be found on Na-Mara’s albums ‘Sisters & Brothers’, ‘Navajos & Pirates’ and ‘The Bite’Na-Mara have built an enviable reputation for fine story-telling and musicianship. They have performed in venues and festivals in the UK, Europe and China, and on BBC Radio 4, and a plethora of internet and local radio stations. They have consistently delivered new and exciting material to audiences.  This includes their own take on traditional tunes from Brittany, France, Ireland, and the Spanish Celtic regions of Asturias and Galicia.Rob Garcia:  mandolin, octave mandola, classical guitar & backing vocalsPaul McNamara: guitar & lead vocals Web site: http://www.na-mara.com/

Small Ensemble Flute,Guitar,Oboe,Piano,Ukulele,Violin - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1013012 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Na-Mara. Celtic,Folk,World. Score and parts. 1 pages. Na-Mara #5970291. Published by Na-Mara (A0.1013012). This An Dro is a traditional folk tune from Brittany (France) and is arranged for two melody instruments. It is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by UK based folk duo Na-Mara.An ’An Dro’ is a circle dance. Written in the key of G, An Dro can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. We came across this particular An Dro from a collection entitled ‘French Folk Tunes for Accordion’ edited and arranged by Murray Grainger, and published by Schott Music Performance tips: this is a beginner / intermediate level piece played andante or at a moderate speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. As it is a dance–like tune, try to keep the tempo even. The guitar accompaniment can be played finger picking style as broken chords. When we play this live, we play the opening stanzas on mandolin alone and then bring in the guitar. We play it as part of three-part set following the An Dro, with our own tune, Canberra Bourrée, and finishing the set with our arrangement of the Galician Muiñeira, Muiñeira de Boal. Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1295707 Composed by Donald Ashwander. Ragtime. Score. 6 pages. The Donald Ashwander Estate #886005. Published by The Donald Ashwander Estate (A0.1295707). Forgotten Ballrooms, pays tribute to the burgeoning preservation movement in America that has breathed new life into abandoned and historically significant structures. In the not-so-distant past, only a select few possessed the sophistication to recognize the beauty and historical significance of seemingly ordinary places such as derelict railway depots or 1920s filling stations. Today, however, there are people discovering, restoring, and utilizing these architectural gems. This newfound reverence for the past has given rise to a unique breed of enthusiasts who engage in what can only be described as ballroom archaeology.Forgotten Ballrooms takes inspiration from this rarefied and dedicated movement of ballroom archaeologists. Throughout the country, these individuals venture into the hidden corners of history, opening doors to ghostly rooms that resonate with the echoes of bygone dramas and memories long past. As the pianist embarks on this musical journey, they evoke the palpable atmospheres of these once-vibrant spaces, now shrouded in the mists of time. The composition’s syncopated rhythms, playful melodies, and intricate harmonies pay homage to the era when these ballrooms were the centers of social life and entertainment. Yet, there is an underlying sense of nostalgia and longing, as if the music itself yearns to recapture the forgotten stories and dances of the past.Through Ashwander’s musical tribute, we are reminded of the enduring power of history, culture, and the resolute spirit of those who seek to preserve the memories and grandeur of America's forgotten ballrooms. The final page of the sheet music contains special program notes by Donald Ashwander.

Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.935379 Composed by Dan Heslink. Contemporary,World. Score and parts. 30 pages. Pharaoh Publications #4978359. Published by Pharaoh Publications (A0.935379). Asian Symmetries                                                                      by Dan Heslink Asian Symmetries is a fanciful work which draws loosely from the musical procedures and sonic preferences of Indonesian and other Asian musical styles.  It is scored for three percussionists, each with their own battery of instruments. Gamelan-like impressions might be inferred from the cyclical nature of its rhythm, using metal plates like cymbals and gongs to mark large units of rhythmic time. Also evocative are the faster moving elaborations and a preponderance of metallophones in the instrumentation.   The work is medium to difficult in its demands. There are quick changes of instrument, planned to be manageable but requiring some attention to logistics  Each player’s performance station must remain stationary, with all instruments in reach without moving the performer’s position. Percussion I and Percussion III players must set up next to each other so that they may share the tenor drum. A selection of mallets that allows different striking surfaces to sound good without undue picking up and setting down of mallets is suggested.   Changes of meter and tempo occur, and an odd meter section sporting measures in 12/8, 6/8, 11/8 may require some additional attention. The instrumentation is selected to approximate Asian sounds with common western instruments. Performance time is 6:28. The composer, Dan Heslink, can be reached at dan@dheslink.com.
