Choir Sacred (SATB choir) - Digital Download SKU: JX.00-20909 SATB. Composed by Jay Althouse and Sally K. Albrecht. Choral (Sacred); Choral Worship Cantata; Larger Works; Performance Music Ensemble; Worship Resources. Advent; Christmas; Sacred; Winter. Score. 58 pages. Jubilate Music Group - Digital #00-20909. Published by Jubilate Music Group - Digital (JX.00-20909). English.Behold That Star! is an inspiring Christmas cantata that radiates the creative artistry and partnership of Jay Althouse and Sally K. Albrecht. As the Prince of Peace comes to bring light to a people in darkness, we travel by starlight on our Christmas journey. An inventive blend of scripture and hymn texts tells the story. An optional congregational candlelight ceremony adds a special touch as children's voices (opt. solo) and choir combine in strains of Silent Night. Christmas spirituals provide a joyous finale as the choir concludes, Behold that star of glory! It is the star of Bethlehem! Designed for incorporation into regular Christmas or Advent worship services, Behold That Star! may also be lengthened to create a special seasonal program or pageant by adding costumes and simple staging. Approximately 25 minutes long, it may be accompanied by keyboard alone or with additional instruments consisting of 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, flute, 2 clarinets and percussion. Both the instrumental parts and a fully-orchestrated performance/accompaniment CD recording are available separately.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.946714 Composed by Thiago Osorio. Concert,Instructional,Standards,World. Score and parts. 66 pages. Thiago Osorio Music #6495135. Published by Thiago Osorio Music (A0.946714). ''Sim, eu volto'' (in english: ''Yes, I will be back'') is a song presented here in its instrumental version for concert band. Cururu is one of the genres of Brazilian country music that inspired the creation of this song. This song tells the story of a country person who went to live in the metropolis and reflected that it was all illusion when she was confronted with the violence and ambition typical of the big city, making her miss the simple life in the countryside. The wood stove, the mud on the ground, riding in a cart, milking the cow, eating fruit from the tree, the freedom to walk without worry are memories that lead her to believe that God willing she will one day return to her origins. This instrumental version included three solos that can be replaced by improvisation. The main melody and counterpoints alternate between suits, with the use of voicings characteristic of the style. Without a doubt, it's an excellent opportunity to expand your band's repertoire with authentically Brazilian music.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012990 Composed by Santiago Suarez. Arranged by Donald Dilley. Contemporary. Octavo. 8 pages. Dilleyhouse Publishing #6659353. Published by Dilleyhouse Publishing (A0.1012990). As performed by Eva Eugenio.  This arrangement of Katakataka grew out of a desire to introduce our classes to the culture and music of the Philippines. While we have several Filipino students in our choirs, we were surprised at how little the non-Filipino students knew of this wonderful and diverse group of islands. In the process of learning this piece, in addition to getting a small sample of the Tagalog language spoken in many parts of the Philippines, we took time to study its history and geography as well as the history and evolution of it’s music - from native instruments, to the Spanish influence and beyond. Additionally we spent time learning a fun Filipino dance called Tinikling and included that dance as part of our performance. Any combination of C instruments would work including violins, flutes, and Orff percussion just to name a few. A good guitar player could replace the piano part to make it more authentically Filipino. My Filipino students were a great help in learning the language and there are several resources available on YouTube and beyond that will aid in better understanding and performing this work.

David Warin Solomons #863483. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1271090). Here is my 1976 Oratorio on Winnie the Pooh (Poohratorio) for alto voice, spoken parts, guitar and various optional other instrumentsGreat fun for young and old. It uses the whole of Chapter 8 of A A Milne's Now we are six -The expotition to the North Pole, which is now in the public domain in the USA.The pdf file is the score based on the alto and guitar parts with spoken voices provided in text on the score.CHAPTER 8 ...IN WHICH CHRISTOPHER ROBIN LEADS AN EXPOTITION TO THE NORTH POLEONE fine day Pooh had stumped to the top of the Forest to see if his friend Christopher Robin was interested in Bears at all. At breakfast that morning (a simple meal of marmalade spread lightly over a honeycomb or two) he had suddenly thought of a new song. It began like this:Sing Ho! For the life of a Bear. When he had got as far as this, he scratched his head, and thought to himself That's a very good start for a song, but what about the second line? He tried singing Ho, two or three times, but it didn't seem to help. Perhaps it would be better, he thought, if I sang Hi for the life of a Bear. So he sang it . . . but it wasn't. Very well, then, he said, I shall sing that first line twice, and perhaps if I sing it very quickly, I shall find myself singing the third and fourth lines before I have time to think of them, and that will be a Good Song. Now then:Sing Ho! for the life of a Bear! Sing Ho! for the life of a Bear! I don't much mind if it rains or snows, 'Cos I've got a lot of honey on my nice new nose! I don't much care if it snows or thaws, 'Cos I've got a lot of honey on my nice clean paws! Sing Ho! for a Bear! Sing Ho! for a Pooh! And I'll have a little something in an hour or two! He was so pleased with this song that he sang it all the way to the top of the Forest, and if I go on singing it much longer, he thought, it will be time for the little something, and then the last line won't be true. So he turned it into a hum instead.   ..... etc.
