Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1259406 Composed by G. Faure. Arranged by A. Leytush. 19th Century. 73 pages. Arkady Leytush #852693. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1259406). In the orchestral transcription this opus originally written for piano acquires a new scale and different timbre sound. At the same time, the variation form of development is emphasized by the full composition of the full orchestra used here. On the example of this composition the continuity is noticeable of Faure - Rachmaninoff in character, style and development. This music could be brilliantly companies with Rachmaninoff’s – “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini†in one program.

Piano Accompaniment, Dan CutchenTime: approximately 6:00And Can It Be That I Should Gain? is a Christian hymn written by Charles Wesley. And Can It Be was written in 1738 to celebrate Wesley's conversion, which he regarded as having taken place on May 21 of that year. This beautiful hymn has been popular and enduring. And Can It Be That I Should Gain is perhaps one of the most joyfully poignant hymns penned by Charles Wesley (1707-1788). On Whitsunday (Pentecost), May 21, 1738, three days before his brother John experienced his heart strangely warmed,’ Charles was convalescing in the home of John Bray, a poor mechanic, when he heard a voice saying, In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, arise, and believe, and thou shalt be healed of all thy infirmities. The voice was most likely Mr. Bray’s sister who felt commanded to say these words in a dream.Anglican hymn writer Timothy Dudley-Smith, notes that the following then happened:Charles got out of bed and opening his Bible read from the Psalms: He have put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God, followed by the first verse of Isaiah 40, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He wrote in his journal, I have found myself at peace with God, and rejoiced in the hope of love Christ (Dudley-Smith, 1987, 1).The statement from Mr. Bray’s sister sparked within Charles a conviction like he had never felt before. Moved and convicted in spirit, Charles wrestled with these words until he came to rest in his faith, knowing that it is by faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:8).Soon after this conversion experience, he wrote two hymns in celebration of the amazing love he had come to know: And Can It Be that I Should Gain and Where Shall My Wondering Soul Begin? (United Methodist Hymnal, 342)There has been some debate as to which hymn was written first, but most current scholarship accepts the latter as the first hymn written by Charles after his conversion experience. No matter its place in the chronology of Wesley's output, And Can It Be has been and remains one of his most remarkable hymns, expressing like no other the rapturous joy of receiving salvation. And Can It Be That I Should Gain. Large Ensemble Cello,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889878 Composed by Gary Friedman. Contemporary,Jewish,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 66 pages. Gary Friedman #11999. Published by Gary Friedman (A0.889878). The original version for cello and piano was my first formal composition when I started composing in 1998. When my brother, Ralph, heard it, he cried and said that he wished that my parents could have heard it, too. The form and harmonies of this piece are mostly traditional, but there are a few surprises. There is a cantorial cello cadenza. A trumpet and tuba are added to the usual chamber orchestra with piano, just to play an Oh My Darling Clementine counter-melody in one variation but flute and bassoon have cues and can do this nicely. The recording of the beautifully expressive performance by Ken Hoppe and the College of Marin Symphony conducted by Tara Flandreau (who edited the string parts) is of such poor sound quality that I have uploaded the computer playback as the sound clip, which is of course quite mechanical sounding. However, if you would like to hear the live performance the YouTube link is ?v=6RHrLVqTyZg The cello and piano duet version is included in this package but is also sold separately for $5.00. Duration: 8 minutes Year: 1998.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1094473 Composed by Samuel Araújo. Arranged by Samuel Araújo. Contemporary,Romantic Period,Wedding. Score and parts. 22 pages. Saa Compositions #698525. Published by Saa Compositions (A0.1094473). Original composition for a string quartet, this two-variation piece was made in one of the college's composition classes, taking into account, mainly, the textures and protagonisms of the voices. This exercise can be great for a group of students in composition, or even to be performed in a string auditions, as it is a contemporary music, without abandoning the classical forms. Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.866121 Composed by Gioachino Rossini, Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Yoon Jae Lee. Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period,Standards. Set of parts. 71 pages. Ondine Press #6230163. Published by Ondine Press (A0.866121). Instrumentation: 2(Il. ad lib) 2. 2. 2 – 2. 2. 1(ad lib). 0 – str This is a set of parts to Yoon Jae Lee’s arrangement, Variations on “Non più mesta†for flute and orchestra. The full score, as well as a version for flute and piano, are available separately. Rossini's aria from La Cenerentola Non più mesta has been a popular theme since it was first composed and is one of his most recognized tunes. Many paraphrases and variations were written on it in the 19th century for various instruments including one for violin and orchestra by Paganini. One set of variations for flute and piano is attributed to a young Chopin, who is said to have composed it for his father. For this arrangement, the variations have been expanded with an introduction and coda from the opera. A newly written orchestral accompaniment in the style of Chopin and Rossini was made along with interludes between the variations to allow the soloist to rest. The result is a new 10 minute showpiece for flute and orchestra in the same vein as Chopin's Variations on La ci da rem la mano and Rossini's variations for clarinet and orchestra. The flute part from the variations has not been altered so it is hoped that this new compilation will be a welcome addition to the solo flute repertoire. Perusal score: https://bit.ly/3hJgXxP.

Theme and Variations for Er Hu and Orchestra The er hu is a two-string Chinese violin, which I heard during a visit to China in August 2006. The six variations move into Western harmonies and a variety of rhythms. The world premier was held on February 10, 2008. Matt Springer was soloist with the San Francisco Civic Symphony. The second performance by Matt was with the San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra on June 7, 2008, John Kendall Bailey, conductor.. The audio clip is a recording of that performance.
