Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1167563

Composed by Carrie Jacobs-Bond. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Jazz. Score. 1 pages. Phil Beaman #767931. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1167563).

I've Done My Work is a piano solo arrangement of the 1920 hit pop song by Carrie Jacobs-Bond, which was originally a ballad for voice and piano.  I have taken the short melody from this old tune and heavily syncopated it then created a driving LH part.  Pure jazz energy to be played with a bit of reckless abandon.
1 page score; 1:20 minutes
This piece is also found in my book, Carrie Jacobs-Bond, Popular Songs 1900-1925, a collection of 51 of her songs I have arranged for piano solo, which is also available on this site.

By Sammy Davis Jr. By Walter Marks. Arranged by David Lee Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 3 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #685336. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1081199).

I've Gotta Be Me is a popular song that appeared in the Broadway musical Golden Rainbow, which starred Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé. It opened in New York City at the Shubert Theatre on February 4, 1968, and closed just under a year later, on January 11, 1969. The music and lyrics for the musical were composed and written by Walter Marks in 1967. Sammy Davis Jr. recorded the song in 1968 while the musical was still running on Broadway, altering the title slightly to I've Gotta Be Me, and released it as a single late in the year. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements and we incorporated a smooth left-hand bass line to keep the rhythm going - we hope you like what we've done with the song!

Composed by Turner Layton. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Contemporary. Score. 2 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #6570355. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.794131).

After You've Gone is a 1918 popular song composed by Turner Layton with lyrics by Henry Creamer. It was recorded by Marion Harris on July 22, 1918, and released by Victor Records. The chorus adheres to a standard ABAC pattern but is only 20 measures long. There are four 4-bar phrases, followed by a 4 measure tag. The song is harmonically active, with chord changes almost every measure. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We also added some pretty cool left-hand fills for your listening (playing?) pleasure - we hope you like what we've done to make this arrangement unique!

By Andre Kostelanetz. By Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 2 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #1040383. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1461639).

I've Told Every Little Star is a 1932 composition by Jerome Kern with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein from the musical Music In the Air. Unfortunately, it suffers from many poor performances, particularly the awful Linda Scott 1961 hatchet job which changed both the melody and words to attract a teenage audience. The tune has a standard 32-bar AABA form. Many of the standard performances (Bing Crosby's, for example) use a simple set of changes in the A sections that stay close to the tonic; these are the original changes (as per the lead sheet in The Ultimate Fake Book). This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We also added some pretty cool left-hand fills for your listening (playing?) pleasure - we hope you like what we've done to make this arrangement unique!
