Ascher and Paul Williams.Most people hear the intro of this piece and immediately think of Kermit the Frog, strumming his banjo and singing this beautiful little melody. It is one of the very first sheets of music that I went out and purchased at our local music store. I was so excited to learn it! Fast forward many years later (ahem!) and I am so happy to see it entertaining a whole new generation of people. On YouTube, Kermit uploaded a special performance of it in April 2020!I performed it as a duet with a student at a recital and it was a big hit (we even came up with our own choreography to go along with the piece!) This melody is one of those timeless and iconic pieces that will forever live in my heart. I was excited to see that I would be able to share an arrangement I made!My version starts out in the key of A major and offers a simple, more pianistic left hand accompaniment. Smooth, flowing arpeggios accompany most of the piece. The first verse is left to be fairly simple and lets the melody shine. The second verse has more harmony in the right hand and some fills that build on the melody. The key change has more movement and signals the last verse done in a very full, orchestra-like sound. This is an arrangement of Paranoid by Black Sabbath for Flute Quartet.  I've always wanted to know what power chords would sound like on a Flute and decided to arrange Paranoid to find out. I am very pleased with the results and hope that you agree. There are two ways that this arrangement can be played that can get two sounds. Playing it as written will give a medieval sound, which is what the MP3 file sounds like. The second option is to add Flute Beatboxing. Whenever a part has Quarter notes jumping 5ths (measure 5 Flute 3) the performer instead of playing normally can use strong Puh and Caa articulations to sound like a drum kit. I have attached a video using this technique to play the super mario bros theme to better describe what I mean by Flute Beatboxing. There is also an optional Jet Whistle in Flutes 1 and 2 in measure 20. Both techniques create a unique sound that accurately reflects the source material as well as giving musicians more expressive capabilities.  At this time, I have been unable to attach individual parts. This lifts here out of the darkness and she accepts that there is a way to find happiness once again.This Anthem can be performed in any combination of choir/organ or choir/orchestra or all three.With a duration of approximately 3’ 50 the music executes rich harmonies, with a drum beat that adds the hint of a pop rhythm. The score will be a valuable asset to any choir, and is easy reading for performers with wide ranging experience.

This arrangement of Amazing Grace for solo piano is set to the American tune New Britain. The arrangement has been carefully crafted to sit within the UK ABRSM grade 5 to 7 ability range. This corresponds to Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate level of difficulty. The theme is plainly stated at the beginning and is followed by four variations in both triple and quadruple metre in a variety of styles. Students who elect to play the complete score will have a performance duration of five and a half minutes, the beauty of this arrangement is that students can choose to play any or all of the four variations to suit their technical ability level. I am indebted to Chikako Komaki, one of New Zealand's leading piano teachers, for providing editorial advice and suggested fingerings. This arrangement is not only ideal repertoire for High School and College piano students, but is also well suited to services of worship at any time during the year among those congregations who admire this hymn.
