SKU: A0.909976

Composed by Tinus Badenhorst. 20th Century,Contemporary,Praise & Worship. Octavo. 18 pages. Envangeli #5025913. Published by envangeli (A0.909976).

Sing Glory Hallelujah - Anthem - Score (A3)
A universal praise anthem for most denominations and for all times of the year.
To be performed by a full orchestra and two choirs. The larger, the better.

In section A almost a marching rhythm is started by the contrabasses and cellos with an underlying drone sound from the synthesizer.
In section B one alto flute begins with the verse.
In section C the altos of the SATB 1 choir sing the verse.
In section D the bass pattern changes slightly and the sopranos and altos sing together with an echo by the tenors+basses, then the SATB 1 choir sings in unison.
4 Bars before section E the bass pattern changes completely, the SATB 2 choir and more instruments join in and in section E the SATB 1 choir sings the chorus of the piece.
In section F more instruments join in and finish in a magnificant chord that plays 4 bars and reverb afterwards in another 4 bars rest.
In section G the bass line returns to the first theme and the verse is sung again by the SATB 1 choir with the alto flutes playing a counter melody.

Composed by Connie Pwll Walck Tyler. Concert,Contemporary,New Age,Sacred,World. Octavo. 19 pages. Connie Tyler #4884389. Published by Connie Tyler (A0.1008093).

This work for SATB, Marimba, French Horn and drums can be performed substituting a piano for the Marimba, or using an electronic keyboard, if the instrumentation is hard to come by. In the attached .mp3 it is sung by Matthew Curtis to an electronic recording of the instruments. Contact connie@deephum.com to obtain an electronic recording of the instrumentals.
The song is one of many found in the novel, The Earth Woman Tree Woman Quartet, also written by Connie Pwll Walck Tyler. It is a call for people to see themselves as part of the whole earth, to join the Dance of Life, the central metaphor of the novel. It opens with a haunting call by the French Horn, and then the tenors, before the drums, marimba, and the other voices join. There is a soprano descant at measure 71 that can be sung as a solo. Peace, peace, laughter and dance, joy and life for us all. Sing your tears, sing your fears.... The piece is about four minutes long.

The words are:
Arise! Arise!
Open up your heart.
Open up your heart to the Dance of Life!
Arise! Arise!
Open up your eyes.
Open up your eyes,
Arise! Arise!
See the world in the Dance of Life.
Beat your feet to the beat of your heart.
Dance the Dance of Life.

Peace, peace, laughter and dance,
Joy and life for us all.
Sing your fears, sing your tears,
Sing oppression through the years,
Peace and justice for us all.
Peace, peace, laughter and dance,
Joy and life for us all.
Joy and life for us all.

Wake up and open up your heart to life.
Wake up and see the world with compassionate eyes.
Sing out and open up your heart.
Sing out and open up your lives!
 Join the Dance of Life!
Dance the Dance of Life!
Arise! Arise!
Open up your heart to the Dance of Life!
Dance the Dance of Life!

Composed by Brendan Graham and Rolf Lovland. Arranged by Ted Samuels. Celtic,Contemporary,Irish,Pop. 21 pages. Theodore A. Samuels #5852319. Published by Theodore A. Samuels (A0.828659).

This song was written by the team of Brendan Graham and Rolf Lovland, who also wrote You Raise Me Up.  It was originally performed by their group Secret Garden, and The Canadian Tenors (aka The Tenors) have also recorded a fine version of it.
This arrangement is for brass quintet with an optional medium voice.  It begins in the key of Eb and then changes to F for the last verse and finale.  (A similar arrangement for saxophone ensemble and low voice is also available.)  It commemorates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, and is dedicated to the many frontline workers and first responders who have served faithfully at great personal risk during the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic of the early 2020s.

Composed by Lorne Balfe. Arranged by Mark R. Lewis. A Cappella. Octavo. 8 pages. Mark R Lewis #6885085. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1001562).

In the fall of 2021, Amazon Prime introduced the first season of the television adaptation of Robert Jordan's iconic Wheel of Time book series. The series included a lot of wonderful music composed by Lorne Balfe, including The Song of Manetheren in episode 2. It is presented as a folk song performed by the character Mat and joined by the other main characters as they travel on horseback through the countryside.

This arrangement of the piece is arranged by Mark R Lewis for a cappella TTBB ensemble with additional lyrics added by Mark R Lewis. The baritones have the melody the whole time with the basses providing a lower, drone-like harmony and the tenors providing upper harmonies. The arrangement also includes body percussion in the form of foot stomps and hand claps. The piece is not particularly difficult but does have some rather quick, atypical rhythms and may test the ranges of younger singers. You can find other arrangements by Mark R Lewis at http://www.makingjoyfulmusic.com/storefront.html.

By Cast Of Billy Elliot - The Musical. By Elton John and Lee Hall. Arranged by Matt Clifford Sharp. Broadway,Musical/Show. 7 pages. Matthew Sharp #1072171. Published by Matthew Sharp (A0.1495648).

?From the musical production of ?Billy Elliot. This has a simple, evocative melody in which Billy's Father expresses his painfully sad life story, whilst still harbouring a deep, emotional connection to his community and home. The opening acapella solo is very effective, though can easily be given to a whole section if required. It's a simple arrangement where all parts get some melody and the tenors only go up to Eb. Your lower basses will enjoy the optional 8vb on the final line!

By Budapest Scoring String Quartet. By David Warin Solomons. Classical,Comedy,Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 136. David Warin Solomons #715968. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1114067).

Instrumental quartet based on my choral piece The Choir in the Rain which is a sequence of limericks written and set to music by the composer imagining the scene if a choir were made to sing in the rain, complete with colds, coughs, sneezes and fever. Original limericks: (Introductory words: pitter patter pom etc) Our conductor was trying to train our choir to sing in the rain the music got wet and to our great regret we finally had to refrain So all of us went back indoors and we sang from our poor dripping scores but the audience cheered as we persevered and demanded sev'ral encores It was then that we all started sneezing the basses were coughing and wheezing The altos in harm'ny sniffed not very calmly but the audience thought we were teasing The Sopranos then noticed their dresses were shrinking and causing distresses the buttons they popped and the tenors they hopped as those buttons shot right past their faces It seemed that the choir was dissolving and the room started slowly revolving we'd all caught a cough it near carried us off as the fever we'd got was evolving We finally reached the last ditty in that chilly and rain sodden city oh we're told that in Spain it just rains on the plain but here it soaks both plain and pretty Performed by Violin 1: Csongor Veér Violin 2: Anna Fehér Viola: Péter Kondor Cello: Mátyás Ölveti of Budapest Scoring.

Composed by Terre Johnson. Lent. Instrument parts. 14 pages. MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music #50-3104-E. Published by MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music (MQ.50-3104-E).

English.

This text from an old Southern folk hymn is given new original music in this anthem setting for SATB, cello, and piano. The piano part can easily be adapted to organ. The voice parts are accessible. The tenors and basses do sing a verse alone, but in unison to two parts. The sum total makes a sort of contemplative tapestry in which the cello moves in and out of the foreground and so do the voices. Set mostly in C minor, there is a middle section where the chorus sings wordlessly against the cello line and the emphasis shifts to E-flat major. Despite the despair in the text, there is also comfort and reassurance here.

Here is my arrangement of Down by the Salley Gardens. It is arranged in a way so that everyone of all skill levels should be able to perform this piece. It starts with a Baritone Solo and expands to the full choir by the end of the first verse. The voices then travel through a journey of different keys through the use of mode mixture before slipping into D Major. The second verse starts in a similar way with the sopranos getting the melody and the altos with a harmony. It then proceeds to slowly adding in the tenors and basses. It then goes back to the Baritone Solo for the end of the song.

Composed by Christopher Aspaas. 4 pages. Aspen Hill Music - Digital #AHM-16-E. Published by Aspen Hill Music - Digital (MQ.AHM-16-E).

English.

This introit drawn from the Byzantine tradition sets a text in Church Slavonic over a simple drone. A solo voice and aleatoric verse provide a unique set of textures to open any concert or worship and music event. This setting makes for an excellent introit or processional with the choristers either in performance position or in the round. Begin with the tenors and basses in drone on the given pitches on either a hum or pure vowel such as [u] or [É‘]. All sopranos and altos should sing the melody in unison once through, followed by a male soloist who should sing the melody from the back of the performance space and move forward as he sings. The third and final iteration of the melody should be the sopranos and altos singing through each phrase in an aleatoric style. After the final release, one could move directly into an anthem such as Tebye poyem of Rachmaninoff. The key of this piece should be adjusted to fit the needs of the ensemble and program.

SKU: A0.1126300

Composed by Tim Riley. Arranged by Tim Riley. Broadway,Contemporary,Historic,Musical/Show. Octavo. 49 pages. Tim Riley #727004. Published by Tim Riley (A0.1126300).

A short choral work by award-winning British choral composer, Tim Riley (lyrics by John Lovat). In just 15 minutes, this work retells the highly dramatic story of The Newport Rising. Tim Riley specialises in creating compelling works of intermediate difficult for Community Choirs with mixed ability singers. In 1839, 4,000 Chartists marched on Newport in Gwent, Wales, UK. They were part of the Chartist movement, campaigning for better voting right for all. Unarmed, apart from sticks, they arrived at the Westgate Hotel in Newport where they demanded the release of a political prisoner being held there. Local militia opened fire. Twenty two protestors were killed and a further fifty injured. The leaders of the march were sentenced to be 'hanged, drawn and quartered'. Although the march ended in tragedy, most of their demands for universal suffrage are now enshrined in the laws of most democratic societies across the world. The music has been composed in a style that many will find reminiscent of Les Miserable, but there are also touches of Lloyd Webber, Kurt Weill and Gilbert and Sullivan. This arrangement is ideal for community choirs and is a SAAB arrangement. There are two alto parts, but the lower alto part could easily be taken by tenors to give a SATB arrangement. This piece was originally composed and arranged for the Insole Court Community Choir in South Wales (near where the Chartist March took place). In May 2022, the Insole Court Community Choir competed at the Cheltenham Festival for Performing Arts with Tim Riley conducting and won the Musical Theatre section with this work. By Philip Le Bas. By James Leith Macbeth Bain (1860-1925). Arranged by Philip Le Bas. Celtic,Christian,Irish,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 8 pages. Philip Le Bas #721622. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1120294).

An arrangement (revised 2024) by Philip Le Bas of a popular and simple melody by James Leith Macbeth Bain (1860-1925) - Brother James - with words of Psalm 23 (The Lord's my shepherd) for 3-part choir and piano. There are many existing arrangements, but most tend to be rather fancy (e.g. by Gordon Jacob and Alan Bullard), requiring four competent parts, or else it is simply sung as a congregation hymn. Here it is set for SABar choir so that it becomes more accessible to small parish choirs, who may lack tenors and basses. It has five verses, the second and fourth providing an opportunity either for a cappella or for accompanied part singing. The other verses are varied particularly by the piano, although the ending is also in parts.

This is male voice choir arrangement of 'Highland Cathedral' to the words' I Am My Country'. These words make it more applicable to sing for male voice choirs as they don't have quite such a Scottish connection as some other versions and can be easily applied to other locations. Until the last couple of bars it is in two parts with the 1st and 2nd tenors together and the baritones and basses together with easy harmonies.

Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,Romantic Period,World. 16 pages. Regis Bookshar #688011. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1083811).

Coronation March, TH 50, CW 47 by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Saxophone Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of Peter Tchaikovsky's Coronation March, sometimes called Festival March or Festival Coronation March, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and other festive occasions. This arrangement keeps all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students. Professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (16 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available to the public for the first time. The Coronation March was ordered by the city of Moscow for the coronation of Tsar Alexander III in 1883. It was written during March of 1883 and was performed for the first time on June 4, 1883 in Sokolniky Park in Moscow, conducted by Sergei Taneyev. The music then included excerpts of the anthem, God Save the Tsar. The American premiere was on May 5, 1891, for the opening concert of Carnegie Hall in New York City, conducted by Tchaikovsky himself. During the Soviet Era, Russian performances and recordings of the music were revised to omit the excerpts from the Czarist national anthem, replacing it with thematic material used earlier in the march, due to an official Soviet ban on the anthem. Starting with Dmitri Medvedev's inauguration in 2008, an abbreviated version of this piece is played during the Russian presidential inauguration accompanying the entrance of the incoming president, and ends well before the playing in this piece of the Tsarist anthem God Save the Tsar. Unlike Tchaikovsky's other major compositions, the Coronation March does not have an opus number. It has been given alternative catalogue designations TH 50 and CW 47. Tchaikovsky's Coronation March was originally scored for a full orchestra and written in the key of D Major. Regis Bookshar has now created an abbreviated version, written in Db Major, and has arranged it for a Saxophone Quintet, consisting of 1 Soprano Saxophone, 2 Alto Saxophones and 2 Tenor Saxophones. In addition to this arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Coronation March for a Saxophone Quintet, other arrangements of this festive composition for various instrumental ensembles are also available. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are many more arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you as well, and please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Coronation March will continue to entertain both audiences and performers alike for years to come.
