This is a String Trio (Violin I, Violin II, Cello) arrangement of the Brahm's Lullaby, AKA Guten Abend, Gute Nacht, AKA Ukolébavka.

It's on the simpler side, with no syncopations.  I arranged this for a couple of my intermediate violin students to play together - I guess the cello part is slightly more difficult because of the leaps throughout, but still manageable, and would be a great training opportunity for a budding cellist.

Easy to put together, short and sweet.  Hope you like it!

John Powell's music for How To Train Your Dragon was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score. You can definitely hear Scottish/Celtic influences in the music. This selection is the Romantic Flight (also called Astrid's Theme) which was specifically made for her character and reprises during many of Astrid's emotional and heartfelt scenes. This theme is a beautiful, flowing, lyrical piece of music and easily translates to the sound of a String Ensemble. [Note: it is set in 3/4-time and thus can be used successfully with the hesitation step for wedding-entrance walks.].

Songs of Slaves is a medley of nine African-American spirituals that were born during the time Africans were enslaved in the Americas.  These tunes are inter-mingled in a highly emotional and beautiful arrangement for early intermediate string trio (Violin 1, Violin 2, and Cello).  All parts contain multiple solos. The spirituals are: Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen, Lord I Want to Be a Christian, Steal Away, Were You There?, Go Down, Moses, O Mary Don't You Weep, The Gospel Train, Twelve Gates to the City, and Swing Low Sweet Chariot. Especially appropriate for Black History Month, his file contains the score as well as separate parts (20 pages).
