Hekyll and Jyde, a play on the famous character Jekyll and Hyde is a humorous light-classical piece for trumpet and piano. At about 2:30 in length, it is a perfect solo for solo and ensemble festivals or recitals, and is accessible to high school and college-level trumpet players. It is a march which plays on two very different characteristics of the trumpet. It opens with a fanfare, followed by a humorous march theme. A contrasting trio allows the performer to show technique and lyricism.
