Vivaldi wrote this oratorio for the ensemble (the orchestra and chorus) of the Ospedale della Pietà . The interesting fact that all characters (male and female), choruses line (originally written in SATB – mixed chorus range) and orchestral lines were sung and played by women.
This arrangement is written for female ensemble (from SATB voices range (G2 – E flat 5) to voices SSA range (D4 – F5 for G minor, and C4 – E flat5 for F minor key version)), accompanied by keyboard instrument.
