'Saint Anne’s' is a lively Irish reel that's great fun to play. It's well-known and loved and is played across the world in pubs, on stage and at Irish music sessions. It is a great reel for beginners and experts alike.
History: Of Canadian origins, ‘Saint Anne’s’ was popularized in 1948 by radio and TV fiddler Don Messer in his ‘Way Down East’ collection. It has since been introduced repertoires across the globe, especially in the English-speaking world including the US, UK, Ireland, and Australia. ‘Saint Anne’s’ was first recorded in 1927 by fiddler Willie Ringuette under the title of ‘Quadrille du loup garou - 4ème partie’ (English: 'Werewolf Quadrille - Part 4').
