Eleanor Rigby is an example of a song that demonstrates The Beatles evolution of moving from standard rock and roll to more experimental and alternative sounds.  A song on the topics of depressing loneliness was not a common topic coming from rock bands in the 1960's.  However, being a teenager in the 60's, the minor melody caught my attention and became one of my favorite Beatles songs.All that said, this arrangement features staccato chords and a melody that alternates between staccato and legato phrases.  I wrote it at an intermediate level so it would be playable by teen piano students.  I think teen students that are beginning to expand emotionally will be attracted to Eleanor Rigby.  I see this arrangement being popular for family gatherings, and recitals and well as self-satisfaction.  Also, adult students and amateurs would be attracted to this arrangement.

This intermediate level arrangement of A Holly Jolly Christmas is an excellent choice if your wanting an arrangement that contains more advanced harmonies for your intermediate students.  It has some simple stride techniques without the wide jumps often associated with arrangements for advanced players, so this arrangement is a great stepping stone to helping students begin to approach this style of writing.  The middle section has students splitting accompaniment chords between their hands written at an easier student level.I think you will find this arrangement very useful for giving students music that's interesting as well as music that something that reflects the Christmas season.  The music is happy, bright and colorful.I think students will find this arrangement useful for family gatherings, Christmas parties, personal enjoyment and something their friends will enjoy hearing.

This is the trickier of the two arrangements I made. It is a spunky arrangement providing accented chords, shifting moods and other challenges. Rolling Stone magazine listed Norwegian Wood number 83 in the list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.I tried to give this special song a more artistic treatment.  I give it an introduction and an ending to help this main body of the song stand out.  The notes themselves are simple enough but if one follows the touches carefully observing all the placements of staccato and legato writing one will find a lot of musical satisfaction in this arrangement. This arrangement will help awaken the artistic sense of your students.I see this arrangement being a hit at recitals, talent shows, family gatherings and shared with friends.  I think adult students will also find this arrangement substantive and a pleasure to play and not just a perfunctory arrangement that doesn't go much beyond a melody accompanied by chords.
