Choral Choir (TTBB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1001562 Composed by Lorne Balfe. Arranged by Mark R. Lewis. A Cappella. Octavo. 8 pages. Mark R Lewis #6885085. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1001562). In the fall of 2021, Amazon Prime introduced the first season of the television adaptation of Robert Jordan's iconic Wheel of Time book series. The series included a lot of wonderful music composed by Lorne Balfe, including The Song of Manetheren in episode 2. It is presented as a folk song performed by the character Mat and joined by the other main characters as they travel on horseback through the countryside. This arrangement of the piece is arranged by Mark R Lewis for a cappella TTBB ensemble with additional lyrics added by Mark R Lewis. The baritones have the melody the whole time with the basses providing a lower, drone-like harmony and the tenors providing upper harmonies. The arrangement also includes body percussion in the form of foot stomps and hand claps. The piece is not particularly difficult but does have some rather quick, atypical rhythms and may test the ranges of younger singers. Choral Choir,Choral (TTBB Chorus) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1516691 By Mark R Lewis. By Mark R Lewis. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 11 pages. Mark R Lewis #1090864. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1516691). The text for “Where Is Hope?” is adapted from the Lamentations Chapter 3 and is an expression of hopelessness, almost depression. The text starts out with the singer feeling lost, alone, and in pain. As the song progresses, the singer remembers God’s promises to always help and be with us. By the end of the song, the singer has regained hope and is triumphant and comforted. First and foremost, the music is very much intended to support the lyrical content of this song.Throughout the song, the key switches from major to minor (both parallel and relative) quite frequently. The piece starts with a very free section with almost no tempo alternating between just voices and simple piano accompaniment. The middle sections have stricter tempo and more active piano accompaniment and the final section increases in speed and excitement with piano truly accompanying the voices instead of just mostly mirroring them. Throughout the piece, meter always follows word stress so there are a surprising number of time signature changes with lyrical clarity always being more important than strict meter. All that said, the rhythms are not too difficult throughout the song and while there are some dissonant harmonies, the musical lines themselves should be singable by most intermediate choirs. The most challenging voice part is probably the tenor 1 line which spends a lot of time in the higher ranges. There are a few optional parts for the tenor 1s that will truly test the range of the singers.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1169893 Composed by English Folk Song, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and John Baptiste Calkin. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Christmas,Folk,Holiday,Religious,Traditional. Octavo. 23 pages. Mark R Lewis #770258. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1169893). On Christmas Day is a medley of I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day and I Saw Three Ships by Mark R Lewis. John Baptiste Calkin wrote the music for I Heard the Bells in 1872 as an adaptation of the earlier poem Christmas Bells by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I Saw Three Ships is an English carol thought to originate from the 17th century, though the lyrics used is most modern arrangements come from later published versions. This arrangement is intended to be performed by TTBB divisi choir and accompanied by a 3-5 octave handbell choir. All four voice parts pass the melody back and forth and are featured at different times and explore different vocal and accompaniment styles throughout the piece. Most intermediate choirs should be able to perform this piece, although the bass 2s should be able to sing down to a D2 (there are optional notes if this is too low). The handbell part is not particularly difficult but is active across the whole ensemble and uses mallets through one of the middle verses. There are also several key changes that will require quick bell changes or sharing of bells. It is also worth noting that I Heard the Bells is in 4/4 and I Saw Three Ships is in 6/8.This download includes a piano and choir score for when handbells are not an option as well as the handbell sheet music. Handbells are the preferred accompaniment, although it will still sound good with just piano.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1045440 Composed by Irish Folk Song. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Traditional. Octavo. 26 pages. Mark R Lewis #650020. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1045440). This fun Irish folk song has been arranged by Mark R Lewis for TTBB ensemble with an accompanying solo instrumental line. The song uses the hymn tune Kingsfold and the lyrics are thought to have been written by Cathay MacGarvey in the late 1800s. Each part gets the melody for a verse and there is a fun diversion into 6/8 for the Tenor 1s in the 3rd verse. This score comes with options to play the instrumental line on C, Bb, or Eb instruments. The vocal parts are not too difficult but the instrumentalist will need to be moderately advanced, especially if they choose to take the optional ad lib verse instead of the written out solo, which is already rather towards the extreme of the instrument's range.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1045085 Composed by American Folk Hymn. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Christmas,Folk,Holiday,Sacred,Traditional. Octavo. 41 pages. Mark R Lewis #649649. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1045085). The tune for Star in the East first appears in print in The Southern Harmony collection, but is well attested as an American Folk Hymn. The lyrics are partially anonymous but most published versions include verses that seem to have been added by the arranger of that version. This Epiphany song has similar themes to We Three Kings but is definitely a refreshing change from that well known tune. This fun arrangement by Mark R Lewis is for Baritone soloist, TTB choir, a woodwind instrument, and bass instrument. Included is sheet music for C, Bb, and Eb instruments and a bass line which can be played by many different bass instruments depending on what the group has available. The instrumentalists can transpose their parts to different octaves for ease of playing if necessary. The Baritone soloist should be a well experienced intermediate singer and the bass line is very active at times, but the choir and woodwind parts should be performable by most intermediate groups. Also available for Baritone solo w/ SATB ensemble. Vocal Range: f minor Baritone solo - 1 1/2 octaves (Bb2 to F4) Tenor 1 - 1+ octaves (Eb3 to F4) Tenor 2 - 1 octave (C3 to C4) Bass - 1+ octaves (F2 to Gb3) Instrument Range: Clarinet - max 3 1/2 octaves (F3 to A5) can be smaller if octaves are transposed Bass instrument - 1 1/2 octaves (F2 to C4).

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1213360 Composed by American Folk Hymn. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. A Cappella,Folk,Religious,Sacred,Traditional. Octavo. 12 pages. Mark R Lewis #810545. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1213360). What Wondrous Love Is This is an American folk hymn that became popular during the early 1800s. It was first published in 1811 in the various hymnbooks that came out during the Second Great Awakening with various lyricists credited. Many publications attributed the song's tune to The Ballad of Captain Kidd, a popular, though much older, song and tune at the time. Earlier versions of the text are slightly different, but as with many folk tunes, it is difficult to tell which transcriptions are regional variants and which are errors by the transcriber. This arrangement of the tune by Mark Lewis is for a cappella TTBB Ensemble. All four voice parts are featured for a verse with different accompaniment each time. There are key changes to better place the melody in the ranges of each voice and there are moving notes in many background voices through most of the piece. As with many of Mark's arrangements, the outer voices will be pushed towards the extremes of their ranges even though the notes and rhythms are not incredibly difficult. Most intermediate choirs should enjoy performing this piece.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1144864 Composed by American Folk Hymn. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. A Cappella,Folk,Religious,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Mark R Lewis #745182. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1144864). Come, Thou Fount is a very popular hymn, so much so that dozens of arrangements are published every year in both traditional and contemporary settings. The text was written by Robert Robinson in the mid-1700s and the tune most often associated with it is the American folk tune known as Nettleton. This arrangement by Mark Lewis is for a cappella Men's Ensemble and body percussion or simple other percussion. It features the Tenor 2 voice for most of the piece but the other voices get moments to shine in the last verse as well. The arrangement is also mostly in 4/4 instead of the typical 3/4, which leads to some fun rhythmic challenges.

Mark R Lewis #745181. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1144863). Scarborough Fair is an English folk song that is centuries old in which a young man tells about his love and lists a series of impossible tasks for her to complete. The song has remained popular throughout the years but was particularly brought into public eye when the folk-rock duo Simon and Garfunkel covered it incorporating lyrics of their own. This a cappella, TTBB quartet/choir with optional hand drum part by Mark Lewis showcases all four voice parts with key changes that place the melody nicely within every vocal range. Each verse explores a different method of accompaniment giving the whole choir a variety of choral experiences.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1144882 Composed by Mark R Lewis. A Cappella,Religious,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Mark R Lewis #745197. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1144882). I Will Sing and Praise the Lord is an original piece by Mark Lewis. Written for a cappella choir, the lyrics are adapted from Psalm 61 and the tune is entirely original. It begins with a fanfare asking God to listen and moves into a dance-like prayer for God's blessing with the chorus repeating a simple statement of praise to God. This piece is quite achievable by most groups. The tenor 1 and basses do spend a fair bit of time towards the extreme of their ranges. There is only one (optional) note that can only be reached by a true bass and the tenor 1s do go up to a G4 but most singers will have little difficulty performing it.
