Choral Choir,Choral (SAB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1120294 By Philip Le Bas. By James Leith Macbeth Bain (1860-1925). Arranged by Philip Le Bas. Celtic,Christian,Irish,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 8 pages. Philip Le Bas #721622. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1120294). An arrangement (revised 2024) by Philip Le Bas of a popular and simple melody by James Leith Macbeth Bain (1860-1925) - Brother James - with words of Psalm 23 (The Lord's my shepherd) for 3-part choir and piano. There are many existing arrangements, but most tend to be rather fancy (e.g. by Gordon Jacob and Alan Bullard), requiring four competent parts, or else it is simply sung as a congregation hymn. Here it is set for SABar choir so that it becomes more accessible to small parish choirs, who may lack tenors and basses. It has five verses, the second and fourth providing an opportunity either for a cappella or for accompanied part singing. The other verses are varied particularly by the piano, although the ending is also in parts.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1126300 Composed by Tim Riley. Arranged by Tim Riley. Broadway,Contemporary,Historic,Musical/Show. Octavo. 49 pages. Tim Riley #727004. Published by Tim Riley (A0.1126300). A short choral work by award-winning British choral composer, Tim Riley (lyrics by John Lovat). In just 15 minutes, this work retells the highly dramatic story of The Newport Rising. Tim Riley specialises in creating compelling works of intermediate difficult for Community Choirs with mixed ability singers. In 1839, 4,000 Chartists marched on Newport in Gwent, Wales, UK. They were part of the Chartist movement, campaigning for better voting right for all. Unarmed, apart from sticks, they arrived at the Westgate Hotel in Newport where they demanded the release of a political prisoner being held there. Local militia opened fire. Twenty two protestors were killed and a further fifty injured. The leaders of the march were sentenced to be 'hanged, drawn and quartered'. Although the march ended in tragedy, most of their demands for universal suffrage are now enshrined in the laws of most democratic societies across the world. The music has been composed in a style that many will find reminiscent of Les Miserable, but there are also touches of Lloyd Webber, Kurt Weill and Gilbert and Sullivan. This arrangement is ideal for community choirs and is a SAAB arrangement. There are two alto parts, but the lower alto part could easily be taken by tenors to give a SATB arrangement. This piece was originally composed and arranged for the Insole Court Community Choir in South Wales (near where the Chartist March took place). In May 2022, the Insole Court Community Choir competed at the Cheltenham Festival for Performing Arts with Tim Riley conducting and won the Musical Theatre section with this work. Choral Choir (SAB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.888276 Composed by Edward David Zeliff. Christian,Easter,Sacred. Octavo. 4 pages. Edward David Zeliff #4792021. Published by Edward David Zeliff (A0.888276). This short but poignant Communion anthem was written for and first performed in a Maundy Thursday service. The choir being not a large one, with no tenors, the voices designated are SAB and accompanied by piano. The piano writing integrates the accompaniment into the texture and the lyrical setting of the text. This piece is designed to be practical, easy to learn, and rewarding to sing, all of which is accomplished without sacrificing artistic integrity or writing down for the choral forces. Rather, the unison/octave writing at the beginning and the return of that sonority for the third section are coloristic devices to reinforce the text. The middle section makes full use of the capabilities and ranges of the three-part mixed choir format. The musical setting underscores the Hope of Redemption on the Eve of the Crucifixion at the Last Supper. The piece is equally suitable for any Communion Sunday throughout the Church year.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1166020 By Philip Le Bas. By John Stainer. Arranged by Philip Le Bas. 19th Century,Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 4 pages. Philip Le Bas #766395. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1166020). A simple reduction by Philip Le Bas of How beautiful upon the mountains by John Stainer (1840-1901) from SATB and organ to SABar and organ, to make it more accessible particularly to church choirs with few tenors and basses. This lovely short anthem is very suitable for Advent, but it is also appropriate at other times in the church's year.Words (from Isaiah 52:7): How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!.

Choral Choir,Choral (3-Part) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1296302 By John Farnham. By Andy Qunta, Chris Thompson, Keith Reid, and Maggie Ryder. Arranged by Claire Coleman. Pop,Rock. 12 pages. Claire Coleman #886550. Published by Claire Coleman (A0.1296302). John Farnham's iconic hit You're The Voice is once again receiving regular airplay, making it a perfect time to sing it with your choir. This arrangement is in three parts - high harmony (suited to sopranos), low harmony (suited to altos and tenors/baritones with some octave doubling marked) and melody (for anyone ready to belt!). The melody part has occasional divisi as an optional extra for groups that want to extend themselves. Chords are included for improvised piano or guitar accompaniment, but the arrangement is designed to be sung a cappella. The score, as well as the individual parts, are all included in the download.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818183 Composed by Karl Leuner, Charles Macpherson. Arranged by Philip Le Bas. A Cappella,Christmas,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Philip Le Bas #6233097. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.818183). A popular version of this carol by Karl Leuner (originally called Wiegenlied, written in 1813) and arranged by Charles Macpherson (1870-1927) is published in Carols for Choirs 1 for SATB choir. However, with the lack of tenors and basses in many parish churches, the carol can often lie beyond the ability of many. Hence this arrangement for three-part choir: the range of the baritone part is from low A to high E flat, which should be achievable by most men (or women singing lower parts) in amateur choirs. Being such a beautiful, gentle and touching carol, this arrangement retains its original, simple a cappella nature, although a piano reduction is provided for practice purposes.

Choral Choir (3-Part) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.829461 Composed by Roger D. Allen. Arranged by Lyndell Leatherman. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 26 pages. Leatherman Music Services #6052609. Published by Leatherman Music Services (A0.829461). Here's a simple, yet powerful prayer song by my friend and colleague Roger D. Allen, with whom I had the privilege of working for 20 years at Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene. We found the song to be effective whether used as a lead-in to the pastoral prayer time or as a followup to prayer–especially the Lord's Prayer. Though arranged for SAB voices, you can easily make it SATB by having the tenors in the choir and/or praise team sing the men's part and the basses sing the melody.
