This four-page intermediate piece for solo harp features a contemplative and longing melody in C minor. It builds to an energetic and full sound with sustained LH octaves in the bass under cascading 16th notes. Special effects such as en bas (near the board) and rolled chords make Waiting for the Rain an expressive piece that is enjoyable to play. I wrote this piece during the severe drought and wildfires in my home state of Oregon.
