John Fries #1064163. Published by John Fries (A0.1487192). TYPE JOHN FRIES IN THE SEARCH BAR TO SEE ALL I HAVE TO OFFER. Thanks, John. I Wished on the Moon is a song composed by Ralph Rainger, with lyrics by Dorothy Parker. Bing Crosby sang the song in The Big Broadcast of 1936.Crosby recorded the song on August 14, 1935 with The Dorsey Brothers Orchestra and it reached the charts of the day peaking at No. 2 during a seven-week stay. At the end of the long recording session, Crosby decided to sing only a single chorus of the song in the middle of an orchestral version instead of the full ballad treatment used in the film. This led to a long argument between the singer and producer Jack Kapp. Eventually Crosby prevailed. Crosby recorded the song again in 1954 for his album Bing: A Musical Autobiography.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1477702 By Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra. By Dorothy Parker and Jack King. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 2 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #1055083. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1477702). Aside from the fact that How Am I to Know? was once recored by Frank Sinatra recorded alongside Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra, I wasn't able to find a lot of info about the history of this tune from 1929. That being said, this version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements and we added a few left-hand fills for rhythm. We hope you like what we've done with this grand old tune!

Medium voice and piano - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.7703-1E Composed by John David Earnest. Secular, 21st century. 5 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #7703-1E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.7703-1E). Conceived over lunch at the Oak Room in the famed Algonquin Hotel in New York City, Songs of Sophistication is an homage by poet Robert Bode and composer John David Earnest to the wit and verbal swordplay of the members of the “Algonquin Round Table” of the 1920s. Such literary luminaries as Dorothy Parker, Robert Benchley, George S. Kaufman, Robert E. Sherwood, Alexander Woollcott, and Harold Ross met for lunch daily at the Algonquin to discuss the affairs of the day and to trade delicious bon mots. The five songs in this set explore such sophisticated topics as travel, food, love, language, and the true nature of genius, subjects that surely would have been discussed, dissected, satirized, and parodied by the brilliant circle of friends at the Round Table.
