So, I’ve needed to arrange some music for them so they would have something to play. An ecossaise is a lively energetic dance Scottish in origin mostly in 2/4 time often known for its quick dynamic contrasts. If both performers project the musical features of an ecossaise, a good performance will result.

This arrangement sound best with a strong detached touch. Play at a bright and brisk tempo and a steady dance beat.  The arrangement is at the intermediate level.  Great for family, friends and recitals. It would also make for a great party song. Also, for adults returning to piano wanting to play music from their youth.  ENJOY!

Blue Skies is one of Irving Berlin's great songs.  It has been recorded by many vocal artists and featured in several movies.  In it's auspicious premier in the 1926 musical Betsy the audience demanded 24 encores of the piece. I think this is due to the melodic genius of Irving Berlin.This arrangement is at the mid intermediate level. The catchy melody must always sing.  The rhythm is very catchy and the marked staccato chords will give the song the lightness and transparency to support the buoyant melody.This arrangement is great for students and will help them develop their rhythmic and stylistic sense.  I think adult players will find this popular standard a great inclusion for their repertoire.  If you need something to bring a smile someone; this may be the perfect piece.
