Three Plus Flutes for three soprano with opt. 4th/ob. with alto and bass & piccolo. The first phrase is stated in the top voice, then adding the second voice, further adding the third voice until all voices are in agreement. The next section moves in a rather jaunty motion going through various meter changes. The middle section is stated with the tune in the top voice with accompaniment figures presented in a syncopated manner. All this happening in a modulated key. Further modulation takes place with a motive stated in the second voice, followed the third, then first until it settles into a final statement of kindness.

With excited anticipation the piece breaks forth with imitative motives until it settles down to the first statement of the theme. It continues in a rather straight forward manner with constant interplay of the parts. It gains strength and progresses through various harmonic stages until it relaxes to a softer, slower statement of the theme in the trombones. The final section is reminiscent of the earlier theme until in relaxes into a final statement.

A Woodwind quartet for two flutes and 2 clarinets. A beginning that is yearning in emotion and subtle shifts in harmonic and linear lines. A modulation to a higher tessitura in strong block chords gives a feeling of strength. The piece then settles back into the original key with a series of imitation of the various parts. The piece becomes more solemn as the pitch levels drop until settling into a final cadence.

This exchange of motives continues throughout the whole first section until a rallentando presents the theme once again in a slower more expressive manner. This all leads up to the end where the style is broader and conclusive.

The final section is established by the trumpets with subtle underpinning by the trombones. With one final strong presentation of the tune the piece concludes in repose- as one might expect.

All four voices now join in a smooth, serene fashion until it gains dynamic and harmonic strength. A modulation upward with the tune in voice two, and an obbligato-like movement in part one, while the lower parts underpin with a simplistic, though active line. In the last section the parts become more active and excitement abounds until a final flourish establishes the end.

Leading into the section where the parts move in a two part counterpoint until it becomes more choral. Then it segues into a solemn mood with a trombone solo carrying the tune with answering sections in the trumpets. With a segment of strength and power and in a block chordal movement the piece continues to settle into solemnity until it concludes to a single pitch.

The theme tends to be insolated by part, but does exchange between the voices in an imitative format. This format continues, only in a more harmonically full scoring. The second section is stronger in fabric and the voicing becomes more solid. This all leads up to a solid conclusion with a final statement of satisfaction.
