Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138913 By Louise du Toit. By Louise du Toit. Arranged by Louise du Toit. Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Louise du Toit #739208. Published by Louise du Toit (A0.1138913). Aye Aye the Lemur is the fifteenth in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Aye Aye the lemur is creeping through the branches of a forest on the island of Madagascar, a ghost-like figure in the light of the silver moon. He stops to tap the claw on his middle finger against a tree trunk, pressing his large ears to it to pick up the sounds of movements from a grub inside. Mimicking the habits of a woodpecker, he slips the middle digit into a hole in the trunk and harpoons a wood-boring insect larva, seizing his prey and devouring it with great enjoyment. Occasionally resting, he spends the rest of the night foraging in the dense canopy of trees and finally, just before the sun is about to rise, he retracts to his comfortable, spherical nest high up among the vines and branches, where he naps all day long..

Inyoka the Snake is the eleventh in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Inyoka the snake lurks behind a heap of stones in the dry Kalahari Desert. It is a few moments before sunrise, and he is aware of a small ground squirrel running around in the distance. He starts to move forward slowly, but soon his beautiful, patterned body sways left and right with exquisite elasticity as it rapidly glides over the dunes through the patches of dry yellow grass towards his devastated victim. Frantically trying to escape, the squirrel disappears into a tiny hole in the sand and after a few efforts to reach his prey, Inyoka decides to let go of it, not willing to get stuck in a narrow tunnel for his breakfast. Enjoying the early sunrays on his body, he glides lazily towards a dry riverbed, soon drifting off into a deep sleep..

Published by Louise du Toit (A0.1138474). Intshe the Ostrich is the eighth in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Intshe the old ostrich is in a very good mood. Walking through the South African fields surrounding Oudtshoorn, he comes across a narrow road leading to a desolated farmyard where a lot of delicious junk is waiting to be explored. He sees two ancient metal spoons and swallows it; then he gulps down an empty beer bottle, an old, broken wristwatch and a few shiny metal pieces. On his way back to the fields, he adds two round stones to his collection of strange, edible things. Feeling extremely happy after the gourmet meal, he starts moving around in a very weird way, dancing his heart out until his legs are like jelly. Every now and then he stands still for a few moments, opening and closing his wings to cool down from the heat of the exercise; then he dances again until he collapses of exhaustion, ready to take a very long nap in the hot South African sun. .

Izeze the Flea is the third in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Izeze the flea is desperate. He is trying to stick to one strand of hair, but wherever he goes, he is undoubtedly very unwelcome. Running frantically from one spot to another in an attempt to avoid continuous attacks from hairbrushes and anti-flea powders, he jumps up and down, left and right, to and fro, twirling and spinning like a whirlwind on top of the head he inhabits. When he finally succeeds in escaping the invasion of his privacy, he throws himself onto a thick, healthy hair strand, clinging to it with all his might and vowing never to let go of his newfound home..

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138763 By Louise du Toit. By Louise du Toit. Arranged by Louise du Toit. Contemporary. Score. 7 pages. Louise du Toit #739065. Published by Louise du Toit (A0.1138763). Inkawu the Monkey is the thirteenth in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Inkawu the monkey is very naughty and mischievous. Having spent the morning sitting in the sun while some females searched his fur for fleas, he is now in a hilariously expressive mood. Swinging from the branches of a huge African tree, he mocks everything and everybody around him, mimicking a scornful dance with his weird movements and giving the impression of being a funny clown in a circus. When he comes across a car loaded with passengers on a narrow road between the trees, he jumps straight onto the bonnet of the vehicle, pressing his face on the front window and pulling faces to amuse the surprised audience inside. He grins when they feed him oranges through a small opening of a nearly closed window and refusing to leave, he sits on the bonnet for almost an hour, filling up his tummy and satisfying his taste buds with the juicy citrus fruits. When he finally leaps off the car, he continues his merry ragtime dance until he disappears between the trees..
