With its message of endless possibilities and dreams fulfilled, this piece, from the 1971 Academy-award nominated film score of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1964), by songwriting team Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, has remained popular since the 1970s---and even more so today, or so says the more than 5.5 million views on YouTube. The tune surfaces three times in the movie, first during the opening title music, then as the feature number by Gene Wilder as he leads his assembled golden ticket winners into the chocolate room, and finally, as part of the Wonkavator music at the end. Great fun for all generations, and all generations to come! This arrangement provides a dramatic opportunity to teach expression. A charming and musical choice, it is memorable and heartwarming. Piccolo (also alto-flute), cello and piano - advanced - Digital Download

SKU: S9.Q42379

For piccolo (doubling alto flute), violoncello and piano. Composed by Peter Eotvos. This edition: score and parts. Downloadable, Score and parts. Duration 5 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q42379. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q42379).

Composed for the 90th birthday of György Kurtág, the only five-minute trio is characterized by a condensed, contemporary spirit of playing. The change between piccolo and alto flute, magical sound surfaces of the piano and the scordatura of the cello again and again lead to new combinations. The piece concludes, with a wink, with a gradual downward move in quarter-tone steps on the low string of the cello to the Contra G, the initial of the composer celebrating his birthday.

SKU: A0.1157863

Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Classical. Score and part. 52 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758167. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1157863).

The composition of this three-movement 25-minute Concerto for Trumpet served as the composer’s culminating project for the degree Doctor of Musical Arts. The project was approved on 13 October 2005, and the piano reduction was premiered on 17 October 2006. The use of religious themes (fe, caridad, and esperanza—or faith, charity, and hope) for the movements’ titles and programmatic details surfaces from the composer’s religious and musical philosophies, presenting a profound musical commentary on the theological triad.

Piano, string quartet and clarinet in Bb (bassclarinet in Bb) - difficult - Digital Download

SKU: S9.Q6168

Composed by Joerg Widmann. This edition: score and parts. Downloadable, Score and parts. Duration 13 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6168. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6168).

With the title of this composition, Fever Fantasy, Jörg Widmann refers to its musical air: ‘I often feel Robert Schumann‘s melodic shape to be like the amplitude of a temperature curve: nervous, flickering, feverish, an infinite number of small and large wave crests and troughs within the principal line.’ The composer approaches this sound phenomenon with a setting for acoustic instruments. Nevertheless, he succeeds in conjuring up very unusual sound spectrums. Over long sections, the notation of this score mirrors the musical progressions, containing no concrete pitches but detailed performance instructions instead. Slowly, individual tones emerge from ascending pizzicato lines, colourless sound surfaces, sounds of harmonics roughened by tremolos, and virtuoso clarinet scales, tones that do not reveal their origin until the work ends: C - F - E - D sharp, the beginning of Schumann’s first violin sonata.
