The first Invention was for guitar solo (published by Productions d'Oz), the third one one was for two wind instruments (published by Musik Fabrik), and this one - number 4 - is for piano, strings, gong, cymbal, bass drum and side drum. It is in a relentless 5/4 rhythm and starts with a fugato idea on piano and strings (including several divisi moments), with gongs, cymbal and snare drums beginning about a minute into the piece.
