Arranged by Katsuo Mizushina. Classical,Contest,Festival. 79 pages. FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing #1054001. Published by FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing (A0.1477423). Tropical Cafe - at the Resort This piece is originally in a flute duet and piano version, arranged by Katsuo Mizushina for saxophone quartet. The suite is inspired by a story in a café at a resort, but can also be performed as excerpts. We would also be happy if the performers could freely enjoy the piece by adding piano and percussion instruments for optional parts and ad-libbing.Please imagine your favorite café and play it. (Mari Miura)Click here for piano accompaniment sound files.A clear blue sky.Reflected in a sea of sapphire.Waves lapping on the dazzling white of the beach glimmer in the sunlight. The Tropical Cafe, a charming building full of tourists on the shore. It has a mysterious power that transports you into the world of whatever you order.Word of its power soon spread, and now business is booming. But who will visit today? I.Bossa Nova on the Beach Today’s first customers are a group of girls who came to the beach for a holiday.“We need something to match our excitement!”“What could capture the radiance of the sun reflecting on the beach?”They’re having the time of their lives as they decide what to order.“This would be perfect!”One of the girls points out the Beach Bossa Nova. II.Anniversary Waltz At high noon, an elderly couple walks in.“Today is our wedding anniversary.”“We always talked about returning to this beach after we got married here, but we never got round to it.”“Until today!”The sun shining. Seagulls soaring across the sky. Waves gently lapping the shoreline. It was exactly as they’d remembered.Just like the waltz they danced at their wedding, they order the Anniversary Waltz. III.Songs of Nostalgia As the sun begins to set in the west, a customer dressed in unfamiliar clothes enters the cafe.“I wonder where this sea leads to.”The sun shines on half of his face, casting a long shadow.Thinking of his hometown, he gazes at the menu. His eyes tinged with sorrow, he comes across the Song of Nostalgia. IV.Happy Samba Flaming torches are lit as the sun falls beyond the horizon. When you feel a little lonesome as an exciting day draws to a close, treat yourself to the cafe’s most uplifting item. The Happy Samba!May tomorrow be filled with happiness.Click here for other works by Mari Miura.

Cello,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1236633 Composed by Christian Morris. Contemporary. Score and part. 32 pages. Hoopla Sheet Music #832153. Published by Hoopla Sheet Music (A0.1236633). An exciting concert piece inspired by U.S. WW2 pilot, John Gillespie Magee’s iconic poem ‘High Flight.’ In the opening he describes the the magnificent and exhilarating sensation of flying. In the more contemplative second section he seems to breach the veil between earth and heaven: Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirthof sun-split clouds,—and done a hundred thingsYou have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swungHigh in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,I've chased the shouting wind along, and flungMy eager craft through footless halls of air ....Up, up the long, delirious, burning blueI've topped the wind-swept heights with easy graceWhere never lark nor ever eagle flew—And, while with silent lifting mind I've trodThe high untrespassed sanctity of space,Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.High Flight is part of a collection of pieces by Christian Morris entitled ‘A History of Powered Flight’:1. Easy Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1091258 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Music-holley. Classical,Film/TV,Romantic Period. Score. 3 pages. Music-holley #695424. Published by music-holley (A0.1091258). Satie - Gymnopedie n.1 (easy piano sheet) Easy piano version, 3 pages. The Gymnopédies are three piano compositions written by French composer Erik Satie in 1888. The work's title comes from the French form of gymnopaedia, the ancient Greek word for an annual festival where young men danced naked or unarmed. Satie decided to use this title after reading a Gustave Flaubert's novel. These short and atmospheric pieces have a slow waltz time. The melodies of the pieces use dissonances against the harmony, producing a melancholy and painful effect.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808659 Composed by Joseph E. Howard and Ida Emerson. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Pop,Traditional. Score and parts. 23 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #2070943. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808659). Prerecorded wax cylinders were first marketed in 1889. Ten years later, when this Howard and Emerson tune was published, those cylinders were referred to as records, and Arthur Collins made the first recording of Hello! Ma Baby. The lyrics tell the tale of a guy who has a girlfriend he knows only through the telephone. This was one of the first songs to deal with the telephone (that medium, too, being still pretty new). The chorus was kicked back into the spotlight in 1955 when a certain movie frog sang and danced his way across a Warner Brothers cartoon background. The current version used the 1899 sheet music as its source, but is a completely original arrangement that enhances the ragtime feel of the music. This is an infectious piece that is fun to play and a toe-tapper for the audience. Completed in 2016, this arrangement’s performance time runs about 3 minutes, 20 seconds. Contact the arranger, Les Smith, at lessmith@ufl.edu. If you like this novelty number, be sure to check out Sweetwater's Funeral March of a Marionette, Goodbye! So Long! I'm Headin' Home! Put Your Arms Around Me, Honey, Somebody Stole My Gal and Teddy Bears' Picnic. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the search box.  (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.)

It tugged against my kite string and rode the windy sky.  Over treetops and some chimneys too! Lighter than the springtime air, it danced around the heavens without a care. . . .  Great for home schooling, Children's choir, and Music Education.

Bassoon,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1182609 By Dirk Quinn Band. By Charles Borrelli and Roger Courtland. Arranged by Marcony Carvalho. 20th Century,March,Patriotic,Traditional. Score and part. 2 pages. Zedas Couve #782354. Published by Zedas Couve (A0.1182609). The Eagles' Victory Song was the creation of Charles Borrelli and Richard Courtland Harrison, a Washington, D.C. music teacher and arranger for jazz guitarist Charlie Byrd. The song was mistakenly credited to R. Courtland by the Copyright office and in various editions of Eagles programs from the late 1950s through the 1960s.In 1963, Jerry Wolman purchased the Philadelphia Eagles. Wolman was a sports fan growing up and loved hearing the Washington Redskins' fight song Hail to the Redskins at games. Spawning from his admiration for the Redskins' song, Wolman searched for musicians to implement a team song for the Eagles, and founded The Philadelphia Eagles' Sound of Brass band in 1964. The group included 200 musicians and dancers, and was led by Arlen Saylor, who was appointed as the Eagles' entertainment director in 1966 and is credited with penning an arrangement of the fight song that the band played at home games during halftime in the 1960s. Wolman's push to popularize the fight song flew under the radar, however, and in 1969 the Sound of Brass band was discontinued. The song came back into light in 1997, when Bobby Mansure, founder of an unofficial Eagles pep band, asked team management to allow the band to play in the parking lot during home games. Management gave Mansure's pep band an audition, allowing them to play at two preseason games to gauge fan reaction. The song went over so well that Mansure and the band retained a permanent position as the official Philadelphia Eagles Pep Band.In 1998, following Mansure's reintroduction of the song, Eagles management attempted to rebuild its popularity among fans by changing some aspects of the song: they modified the key, changed the opening lyric from Fight, Eagles Fight to Fly, Eagles Fly, and re-marketed the song with that as the title. In addition, they appended the popular E-A-G-L-E-S chant—which had emerged in the 1980s—to the end of the song. While management planned to play the song throughout the 1998 season, the Eagles' poor performance that year caused them to hold off reintroducing the song until the following year. The Eagles fared better during their 1999 season, and subsequently, the fight song was played after every score.
